The speedo cluster comes out by removing the lower plastic (one 10mm bolt and 4 screws) under the steering column. Next remove plastic covering column (helps ease the removal of cluster). Remove 2 retaining screws on cluster cover and remove. Next remove 4 retaining screws on cluster and pull away enough to reach around back and pinch retainer on speedo cable to disconnect. This can be difficult as the cable may bind and the cluster will not pull out far enough to get your hand in to pinch the retainer. If this happens, push the cable thru from the firewall as best you can. It is tight. To remove wiring, push on clip of retainer and gently pull back till it's removed. Remember to replace with a head from the same configuation of truck. A 4 cyl will not work for a 6 cyl truck. As usual, a 4 runner head will fit a pickup providing they are compatible years. Removing dash pieces from a Toyota pickup is very straightforward. Either they are held with screws or clip retainers that require a sharp pull. good luck.

On my 88 Toyota 2WD pickup, some fuses are under the hood on the RH side behind the battery. Others, and the flasher relay, are inside the cab above the floor behind the kick panel on the LH side. Take out 2 screws that hold the kick panel on. There is a lid over the fuses with some of them labeled.

The engine coolant sensor is located on the top of the engine on the right hand side at the front. To get at it, remove the passanger seat; the bolts holding the seat are covered with plastic caps. After removing the seat, lift up the carpet. It might be necessary to remove the plastic trim piece holding the carpet by the door. Remove the black steel plate held with two bolts, this serves to hold the carpet in place. With the carpet up you will see a hatch, under which is the engine. The coolant sensor will be on the extreme right of the engine, and may be easily removed.

The sensor is a thermistor, the resistance of which changes with temperature. With the engine cold, it should read somewhere around 1800 ohms. With the engine warm, it should be in the vicinity of a few hundred ohms.

If you talk to them they may be willing to help. facing the front of your truck your alternater is located on the right bottom side of your motor. first you should un hook your + battery cable then take the belt off you alternater then you will need to take the 2 bolts out that holds it on or maybe ther is 3 its been a while cant remember exacly then you can pull it out a little to get you wires off hope this helps

I think the standard answer, applies here. Remove the drive shaft. Using a tool, like a screw driver, or anything kinda pointed, and a hammer, pry between the housing and the seal, until you bend the outer flange of the seal enough to grab it with pliers, and twist it out. You can also, drill a small hole, in the flange, and screw in a screw, until the screw is in the flange far enough, that you can grap it with a pair of pliers and yank both of them out.

I had to deal with this problem not long ago. I removed it by drilling away the pin that is at the bottom of the casing. Once the pin has been drilled all you have to do is pull it out. In order to get this done I bought a drill bit at the Home Depot (a California hardware store) and used it along a high speed Dremmel drill. I took out the whole steering wheel assembly in order to do it quicker. If you do this, don't forget to mark the steering wheel location before removal and also to use safety glasses when drilling.

The spark plug gap for a 1987 Toyota pickup with a turbo engine should be set between .035 inches and .044 inches. A new spark plug will come with the gap already set and should not need to be adjusted.
