A flash drive is solid state drive that is intended to store data. A flash player is a software program that plays videos in a flash video format.

Push ctrl+alt+delete on your keyboard to bring up Windows Task Manager. Check application's to see if your media player is listed there (for example if you were running Winamp, look for winamp in the applications). If there is nothing listed there check the processes tab for the name of your media player + ".exe". If you find it right click and click end process. If you either can't find it in that list or it does not shut down then keep the window open and follow these tasks: First know where the file is located (right it down). You can do this by right clicking it and going to properties, copy down the "c:\...\...\filename" location. From windows task manager click 'file' at the top left and click run. It should bring up a black dos program. Click the Windows Task Manager again and go to explorer.exe and end process. This should shut down whatever file is being run. Switch to the black dos program and type "del c:\...\...\filename". This should bring up a prompt where it will ask you if you are sure. If you are positive this is the right file then go ahead with the deletion. If it gives you an error then ask another question regarding booting into the dos system before windows comes up. If it does delete it (and it should except on rare occasions) then type in "windows" and it should bring back up explorer and you will be all set. Hope this works and it should work for any file that refuses to be deleted because its in use.

1. Microsoft Word tells the operating system (such as Windows '98) to store your letter in the hard drive.

2. Your letter, which is currently hanging out in the computer's main memory (located on the motherboard), hops on the hard drive interface, and rides it to the hard drive's cache buffer.

3. Upon arriving in the cache buffer, your letter is met by the hard disk controller.

4. The hard disk controller receives a communication from the operating system: "Controller, please store the document at this address: ****."

5. The read/write heads move into position over the correct track and wait for the correct sector to pass under. As soon as it does, the elected head starts writing the letter onto the elected platter. But what if the document is really huge and can't fit onto one sector? If the next sectors on the track are empty, the drive will continue writing the document there. If the track fills up and there is still more writing to be done, however, the drive's first choice will be to switch heads. Since the heads all move in unison, all the other heads are positioned over the same track on their respective platter surfaces. It is faster to use an alternate head than to reposition the heads over a new track. A sequential group of tracks is referred to as a cylinder, because they are one on top of another, not side by side. This brings up another interesting point. After you've owned a hard drive for a while, the availability of long sequential platter space grows scarce.

Things start getting messy as you throw files away and add new ones. When this happens your hard drive is said to be fragmented. As a hard drive becomes more and more fragmented it loses efficiency because it is forced to spend more time repositioning its read/write heads. However, you can do what's called defragmenting your hard drive. You just need a defragmenting program, which isn't expensive. The program will reorganize the data on your hard drive for optimum efficiency.

You would save the first file like C/documents or from wherever you want to save from to your removable disc drive (by first locating which drive the stick is in). Or you could use the send to option, it will not be removed from your PC just sent to another place as well.

HEY I BOUGHT A USB SD CARd reader from best buy that has a usb port on it ...i can drag drop delete my mp3 files as well as any of my word and other files from school its not the lock its the actual card reader that's gives you the write protection error because when i tried to use a differect card reader that came with my CANON MP photo printer i can copy and move files but cant delete or add more files onto the SDcard because of the write protection the same error came up as mentioned in this forum ....i don't kno the brand i got at best buy but its GREY and one end u input the sdcard and one end plugs into ur usb port like a Memory stick it works with my MIni SD card Aswell :) i use my memory stick with the usb card reader on my home , bros laptop and school with no problems at all i think any sd card reader that connects to a computer using a USB port works .....i tried the tape thing didnt work on my canon printer but when i use the USB card reader it works no problem when i attach it to the same computer my printer is attached to IM 100% this will resolve your problem i think the reformatting and taping troubleshooting is garbage and you will be wasting your time

It's in the glove-box along the top. Much easier to find from the passenger seat than the driver's seat.

One would need to buy a USB Flash card reader. they are cheap enough. dont forget to look for a "compatible with MAC" Logo.

Well, you can't. Not like that anyway. You need to find out what the file type is and then download a program to open it. Do a search online for the file type. If it's something like Microsoft Word, you can download a viewer and don't necessarily have to download the program.

I'm assuming you mean that the file is unrecognizable. If its the flash drive you need to download drivers for it or you may be using a drive not compatible with an older (Win 98 for example) computer.

Any Flash drive can be used for that purpose. Just plug the Flash drive into your computer, open "My Computer", open the Flash drive, and drag and drop your documents.

Servo drives are expensive and very intelligent. they are primarily used for positioning applications and could have a resolution of up to .0001" or more.

VFD's or AC drives are simple and cheap and primarily used for simple motion such as conveyors. AC drives are better than DC drives in the fact that you can customize the accel and decel ramps as well as some slip comp.

Servo drives offer full torque across the speed range and are much more efficient - 75%-90% where AC drives could be 40%-70%.
