Low beam bulb

To install a new bulb:
Changing the Low beam headlights on a Volvo S60 2.5T
It will take you at least one hour to complete this bulb replacement. Although the Volvo manual tell you to release the retaining spring there is no spring to release on the 2005 Volvo S60 2.5 T
First start with the driver side you will need to remove the air filter and it housing. After removing the filter pull up hard on the housing and it will release from the three snaps. This will give you easy access to the low beam headlight.
Remove the rubber cover and reach in to the cavity and turn the bulb assembly to the right a quarter turn if you are in front of the car. Gently pull the bulb out with the connecter attached. Make sure the orange gasket come out with the assembly.
Disconnect the connector from the defective bulb and connect it to the new bulb assembly. Insert the new bulb into the cavity and line up the three prongs, look thru the lens to make sure it is lined up properly then make a quarter turn to the left. Put back on the rubber cover and the filter housing.
On the passenger side all you have to remove is the rubber cover and use that same procedure to replace and replace the bulb assembly.
Why is your Volvo s40 hard to start?
check the vacuum lines leading from the fuel pump regulator if those are not leaking then it could be the regulator itself.
The check engine light means that there is something not going right with the engine, but it may not be serious. Take it to Auto Zone or a small shop with the capability to read out the ODBII codes rather than go to the dealer. They'll plug it in and be able to tell you what error triggered the check engine light. I've had my light come on twice, neither time was it a serious problem. The first time was due to bad fuel, the second a minor electrical short in the air intake temperature sensor.

Answercheck your fuel pump relay. You'd be surprised!! AnswerI had the same problemon my 2001 s40. Problem was the fuel pressure controller and idle control value. AnswerI'm having the same problem even after two visits to the the dealer. Just today when the engine stalled again the DSA light came on with the check engine light and stayed on. I couldn't put the DSA back on even when I pressed and held the button which usually works. While the DSA was off the car never stalled. Later when I started the car again the DSA was on again and the stalling continued. I have a feeling it has something to do with the DSA since the DSA cuts engine power when it detects wheelspin. Maybe the DSA sensor or something similar wrongly detects wheelspin and cuts engine power and since the engine is already under 1k rpm it just stalls?Where can you buy Headlight bulbs for a Volvo S40?

Code P2187 is explained as " System too lean at idle, bank 1". Directly from OBD II Techbook. Meaning, there is too much air or not enough fuel in the air/fuel mixture. There are a few things that this could be. You need to see how your car is acting at this time when that check engine light comes on and gives the P2187 code. Probably stuttering and/or stalling. I've seen something as simple as a faulty o-ring in a gas cap cause this code. Aftermarket and locking gas caps sometimes don't work well with Volvo's. Other causes could be bad fuel pressure regulator. You need to find out what the fuel pressure should be when engine is running and at idle. And the pressure when key is on and engine is off. Then test your fuel pressure. Also, possible sticking idle air control valve can cause this code. Even clogged fuel filter will give that code. Good luck.
How do you change Volvo s40 car mirror?
1
Open the Volvo's passenger door and remove the triangular cover that hides the mounting nuts for the mirror. The cover is located inside the door where the mirror attaches to the outside. The cover press-fits into the door frame. Pull on it to remove it.
2
Hold the mirror in place and remove the three nuts located behind the cover with a long-well socket and ratchet.
3
Pull the mirror away from the door. The mirror has three threaded bolts inserted into the side that stick through the door. Be careful not to scratch the door with the bolts as you remove the mirror.
4
Mount the new mirror against the door while seating the bolts through the door into the inside.
5
Secure the mirror to the door with the three nuts, long-well socket and ratchet.
6
Press the cover back onto the Volvo's door frame.
