replace the flasher unit ,there should be one for the emergency flashers close to the turn signal flasher.....so turn on your emergency flashers and follow the clicking sound and im sure youll find the turn flasher right next to it

If one or the other is on solid and won't blink it is likely the bulb assembly. Follow the directions for changing the bulb to free it from the lens case. There is a metal bar on it that you can press to disconnect the bulb assembly from the wiring harness. To verify that the bulb assembly is indeed the problem, you can change it with the working one on the other side, and see the problem move. Take the assembly to a Volvo dealership and buy a new one (mine cost $15 in 2010).

P1651 is the same as Volvo code 981A, engine control module internal fault / faulty signal.

Some of the trouble codes areÊP0100:ECM-6400 signal too low,or signal missing (Intake camshaft). P0011:ECM-640A Faulty Signal,P0013:ECM-6410 signal too low or signal missing (exhaust camshaft),P0201: ECM-2310 Signal Missing (Injector 1).

1. Obtain the correct bulb; I got mine from a Volvo dealer, but it does not look like a highly specialized bulb.

2. Open rear hatch. Remove the plastic cover on the side pillar next to the hatch that has a speaker vent: you do this by poking a small screwdriver into each of the two rectangular slots next to the hatch, and prying back the plastic cover.

3. Remove the speaker by pulling on the two red tabs at the bottom.

4. The bulb holder is now exposed. Remove it by prying gently on the flange that holds it in place. It will come out, and you can replace the bulb.

5. Reinstall all parts in the reverse sequence.

You begin by using a small screwdriver in the slots at the bottom of the rear speaker, near the rear hatch. The face plate will easily disengage.

Pull out the red clip about an inch and then pull on the tag on top of the speaker unit. You will need very small hands to get into the space provided. It is very difficult to turn the bulb holder but it comes out once turned. It will be useful to mark the end with tape so that you know how to orient it when done. Very stupid design by Volvo I am afraid

SRS (supplimental restraint system) is the air bag system. It can mean that they have been deployed, there is a fault in the computer or one of the air bags have been unplugged. Even if plugged back in it will give thid fault code. The only way to turn this off is taking it to the dealer, even if you have OBD scanner it will not turn off this light.

1998 Volvo V70 GLT ~ After tune up I'm getting a check engine light that says misfire in all 5 cylinders. Used NGK copper plugs. The car runs like a champ but wont pass emissions. What do I do?

There are two oxegen sensors on the 99 V70 GLT.

The smoke is actually water vapor. This typically occurs during periods of high humidity. It could also be the result of a damp cabin air filter or a blocked condensate drain.

just to the left of the battery ther is a plastic tube remove it and you will see the dipstick for the transmission. just a poor setup.

1. From the drivers seat look below the dash on th left side panel next to the dead pedal, and look for the tab with a white vehicle icon . 2. With your left index finger gently insert under the tab and pull gently until you hear the hood latch release. 3. Standing in front of the hood, bend slightly at the knees and look between the gap for the hood release mechanism. 4. Hold front edge of the hood with your left hand and with your right index finger gently apply pressure to the hood release mechanism to release the hood. 5. With your right hand reach over to the right top fender and disengage the hood support prop rod and place it in the slot under the hood above the prop rod to support the hood in the raised position. The throttle body is blocked! Very simple diy mechanic fix!

Simply remove throttle body and squirt with carb spray, give butterfly a good wipe and re-fit...

Will purr like a kitten instead of idling like a dog.....

I found that if you pull the steering wheel all the way to the right, even if the steering wheel is locked, then insert your key, it will turn.

There is a dipstick, it is almost at the bottom of your motor once you open the hood, get on the right-hand side and look all the way at the bottom of the engine, it has a color on the handle so you can locate it. You almost have to put your whole arm inside to get the stick. Good Luck!

It has 6 speakers.

you have 2 of them. they are located before and after the catalytic converter

Make sure the car is in neutral (park for automatic)

Open the bonnet (hood)

You shall see a red coloured connector by the left hand side fuse board.

Connect the positive to the other vehicle, then connect the negative to the engine.

Always best to let the charge run for a couple of minutes, then start the XC90.

Leave both vehicles running for a few minutes to get the best charge to the battery.

DANGER:

Always connect the jumper cables to dead battery vehicle FIRST.

You may have unburnt fuel sitting in the engine, this can cause an explosion if a spark occurs from the cable connection.

ALWAYS check polarity of the cables are correct BEFORE connecting - this can cause a fire, or even a battery explosion if incorrectly connected.

Should be a problem with emission system hae vehicle scanned to determine the problem The SRS light is not part of the emission system. It is the warning light for the air bag system. It is on because the system has detected a problem in one of the air bags or seat belts. This problem may or may not keep the air bags from deploying in an accident, so It may not be the safest car to drive. The only way to turn the light off is to have a trained professional read the trouble codes in the SRS control unit, repair the problem(s) and then clear all the codes. This is not something you want to try to fix by yourself, not only for the obvious safety reasons, but because there is the potential for one of the air bags to go off while you are working on the car. If an air bag goes off while you are working on it, you can get hurt VERY BADLY!! I advise you to take the car to a repair shop that has experience working on air bag systems. massvolvoman

mostly it means that the ABS sensor on on of your wheels is broken..that would be the easy cheap solution..but it can also be that your ABS ( the think that makes your brakes strong and stabil) is not working at all..and that's not the best..you can drive no problem with that..just take care braking and keep distance.
