Where do you top up a automatic gearbox on a volkswagen transporter t4?

In my experience with these things, having owned one from 2000 to 2006 and covering only 150 odd thousand miles from new. The gearbox is a sealed unit and seemingly needs to be replaced every 40,000 miles at great expense. Joking aside, specialist tools are required to top up the oil as the quantity is reliant on the temprature of the unit which alters the volume of oil and the oil is locked in at a certain temp and the selector lever has to be moved in a specific mannor to distribute the oil around the valve block, also the bands need to be tightend every so often.

Depends on your style of driving, whether you are mainly on motorways or around town, and on the load you are carrying.

::From personal experience, up to 42mpg. Drive carefully with mostly motorway driving and you can get just over 700 miles from a full tank.::

700 miles from a tank is very optimistic, realstic MPG will vary from 24 MPG to 28 MPG depending on which engine you go for.

How do you remove the alternator on a 1991 Lexus LS 400?

In most cases the alternator fails due to fluid leaking from the power steering pump which is located above the alternator. I believe that you must remove the power steering pump first but it may be possible to remove from below as well. As you stand in front of the car looking at the engine, look down to the left behind the radiator and you will see the power steering pump. Now squirm around and look down uder that and there it is. For a detailed explaination by someone who has done this job, search the workshop files on lexusownersclub.com which is an excellent website for all Lexus owners. Tell them vbdenny sent you!

How does a cow sleep?

Cows sleep lying with their front feet folded under and their back legs tucked under them, but so that either the left or right hip is resting on the ground (which ever side they prefer to lay on). They will either sleep with their head on the ground pointing towards their rear, or stretch out on their sides and sleep with their feet splayed out. Cows doze on their feet as they are chewing their cud, but they never sleep on their feet as their legs cannot lock like horses' do; plus their legs take a lot of weight, which makes it a very good excuse to lay down to rest for a while.

How do you get the defrost to work in 1999 Lincoln Navigator?

Two different vacuum actuators opens and close the mode doors to direct the air to the floor, vents, or defrost. Either you have a bad vacuum motor, or (more likely) you have a cracked vacuum hose. Crawl under the dash and listen for a sucking sound. Also, check all the plastic lines to see if they are cracked.
