id change the coolant temp sensor

Not sure on a T25, but it sounds very much like the cold start handle, as fitted to the T4's (but on the other side of the wheel).

To be used below 18C and pushed back in when engines at temp , according to the book.

T5 Transporter clutch fluid is contained within the break fluid reservoir.

On VW aircooled engines (used in the old beetles) it is as follows.

Standing at the back of the vehicle, looking at the engine the cylinder on the left closest to you is #4, the one behind it (nearer to the front of the car) is #3. On the right side the one closest to you is #2, the one further away is #1

so:

3 ---- 1

4 ---- 2

(rear of car)

On mine it was under the hood on the driver side above the wheel.

But as above, somebody somewhere may have beaten him to it and the event just wasn't known about or publicised. The first KNOWN petrol-engined car was built by Gottlieb Daimler in 1875, who converted an old cart chassis using a 12hp engine. However, the amount of experimentation with chemical engines that was going on throughout the Georgian and Victorian periods, make it almost inconceivable that this could have been the first EVER motor car.

Steps to changing the timing belt on a 2005 VW Jetta Wagon 1.9 TDI?

Make sure the handbrake is off an the ignition is off !

jack up van and place on axle stands .

Remove the road wheels.

remove 2 No 13mm bolts on top of the caliper ( slider bolts with rubber boots on )

the caliper will then lift off the pads .

remove the old pads and anti rattle clips if you have new ones , carefully unplug the brake warning sensor which is on the inside pad on the drivers side if right hand drive or passenger side if left hand drive .Fit the new warning sensor to a pad.

refit the pads and anti rattle clips if supplied .

take the caliper and you will need a special tool (caliper winding tool ) to wind the piston back to the zero position . the piston winds out as the pads wear on the hand brake . The piston requires winding back in as you will not fit the caliper over the new pads otherwise .

once the piston is wound in, place the caliper back into position and reconnect the warning plug .

Your pads should come with 4 new slider bolts , fit the new ones and discard the old .

check everything you have done for correct fitment and double check the 4 bolts are tight and that the disk turns without too much resistance .

Refit road wheels and torque bolts .

Lift bonnet and check brake fluid level , it may be over full now as you have pushed the pistons back and moved more fluid into the reservoir . If so use a syringe and drain a small amount as to bring the level just under the MAX mark .

Start the engine and gently pump the brakes 2 or 3 times to get the pedal back .Check brake fluid level again .

Now lift the hand brake up and down with the button depressed about 8 -10 times to reset the rear caliper pistons . try the handbrake in 1st gear to make sure you have resistance , it will not be perfect yet as the pads need to bed in

to the disc .

you have now successfully changed your rear pads . juration time 45-60 mins .

They were issued the first week in Feb 2012.

There are fuses of sorts, think they are called fusible links, on my T4, RHD, you take the battery cover off, and on the front panel there is a small black box. It will flip open and there are two fuses in there that do burn out. They are for the fans and most likely the reason why they are no longer working. Peter.

According to my T5 manual, toothed belt (cam belt) replacement intervals depend on engine type.

They recommend asking the dealer. For 1.9ltr diesel reccomended replacement of belt and tensioner is at

90,000km -60,000mls.

Relay 102 on a T4 VW controls the glowplugs. It contains a heavy duty set of contacts for the glowplugs and an auxilary circuit that times the plugs on/off and provides the yellow indication light (glowplugs on) on the dash

Look inside wheel arch and there is a flap cut into the plastic inner arch, this is the access for the indicators. Pry the flap out of way put hand thro' and locate back of bulb holder, twist to one side and the bulb holder will come out.

your generator isn't charging. try replacing the brushes. if not then try thesamba.com and look for another generator.
