Child welfare means (the well being of a child) The question is too broad. Has the child been beaten up? neglected? verbally abused? or any other things done that do not appear normal? call the police department and ask for a child advocate or talk to a teacher church pastor human resources person if you have a job. or give more details on the question?

In the United States, child welfare is administered on a state level with some states having separate county administrations. The scope of the child welfare system within each state varies. In some cases, it may include juvenile justice and mental health services. In other states, child welfare deals only/specifically with child abuse and neglect cases. They may take child abuse referrals, assess the situation, and make a determination about the need for services and/or foster care services. Ultimately, a judge decides if a child needs to be removed from the care of their parent or guardian, with recommendations from a state caseworker and possibly attorneys and other service providers.

Many state child welfare systems coordinate removals of children with law enforcement. In most states, the child welfare agency makes the assessment but a few do have law enforcement do the assessment and actual physical removal of children.

it is what it sound like - a program that hires people to make improvements to public properties.

For example, it might hire artists to paint murals in public buildings or it might pay for the construction of facilities in national parks.

The advantages of a welfare state system includes;

-There is a supreme percentage decrease in homelessness.

-There is also a fall in crime rates.

-Provides basic living needs for single parents,sufferers and disabled ( basic apartment payed for by government (partially taxpayers money), transport payed for and 45 pound a week.

The disadvantages of a welfare state system includes;

-A person can receive payment without working or contributing to society eg. charity work.

-It can demean a child's inspirations to achieve to earn money as they know they will end up with money.

My veiw;

I am 17 but can see myself stereopically falling into the crowd of 'paying my taxes to keep the lazy people sitting on their A***S all their life'. I support the welfare state as it stops deserate people resorting to crime tro survive, I would rather pay someone to be lazy and live than for someone to rob/murder me.

I find the simplistic answer above to be superfluous and therefore offer my own answer. As I interpret (as a layman) Article 1, Section 8 does support this, which was upheld in 1936 as Alexander Hamilton referred to the section. This offers ample justification for allowing Congress to address the broad needs of Americas poor. When the poor are not given aid, they will become burdens that reach far and wide, beyond their local jurisdiction. The Great Depression saw a huge refugee population. This is part of what it means to provide for the general welfare of the people. Considering today's context, reflect how we deal with the homeless, what we do with the chronically ill, how we aid the enfeebled old, the destitute and those who find themselves without an income because of nation wide economic distress.

I agree with the second answer. The first one is simplistic, and highly political. The Social Security program evened out the payments for seniors and the disabled. Before that, every State (and sometimes county) had a different formula for assigning aid. Most of them were not adequate for housing, getting medical care and/or food.

Social Security does work, and it works fairly well. It allows a minimum amount of income to live on. For both Retirement and SSDI (disability) you have to have had enough work credits to receive it. There are different requirements for both programs. There is, also, SSI (Supplemental Security Income). That is needs based, not based on work credits. That covers people who did not have enough work credits, and did not have enough income. For instance, my Niece was born with severe Cerebal Palsy. My sister receives a SSI check for her every month. That goes to help support my neice.

TANF is a short term (5 year maximum) aid. It is intended for those who have need (based on income and situation) to get back on their feet. Like people who are newly divorced or widowed or abandoned.

I'm assuming that you babysit a couple of houses.

Assuming that the mother is on welfare and can't afford to take care of the cost of having you babysit her children, If I were in your position, I would let her know that I would be available at only specific set times, and not very frequently. I would probably take into account their financial troubles, and do them a favor by babysitting for free whenever I would watch over her child/children, but I'd make it a point not to get over involved. I feel like doing a good deed to help them out is a great thing to take on, but it's important that you set your boundaries beforehand, so that you don't end up giving them free babysitting every day :)

they help support people...... it can be very hard and stressfull in life. when people get to a certain point, suicide comes along. welfare helps people out.
