Why does the back floor behind the drivers seat in a 1998 BMW 318I always gets wet?
In my '85 318i, the doors have a drain in the bottom of them. Mine got bent in a wreak. Hose down your window on that side, then open the door and see if you see the water running or just barely dripping. Could be plugged up. look for damaged seals around doors, if none open trunk look for dirty drain track and bad seals , also look around back window for signs seal there may be leaking. You also need to check the roof drains for the sun roof if you have one. they drain into the drip rails outside the car behind the rear glass and they do get stopped up.

What is the difference between a mauser 98 and a k98?
I Just want to say a little bit of the history on both guns. The Gewehr 98 was used from 1899 to 1936 in the German army. Gewehr means "gun" in German. It was the standard-issue rifle in World war 1. When the Nazis came to power, they wanted a new rifle to replace the long Gewehr 98's, so they started developing a shorter rifle. They named the new gun the Karabiner 98. Karabiner means "carbine" in German which is another word for a shorter gun. Like I said earlier, the K98 is really a shorter version of a Gewehr 98. In 1935, the K98 entered mass production and the Gewehr 98 production stopped. Although most Gewehr 98's were put into reserve in the next 2 years, the Gewehr 98 remained with police forces and reserve units until around 1938. By time the war started in 1939, all German soldiers had the K98, with the exception of submachine guns machine guns. The K98 was the only rifle used by the German army from 1939 to 1943, until the Germans started issuing Gewehr 43 semi-automatic rifles. Even with this, the K98 was produced until the end of the war in 1945. As the war came to a close, Hitler ordered all men from 16 to 60 to go into the army. Since there were no more guns to be issued, they started taking Gewehr 98's out of the reserves and re-issuing them. These were only used for a few months as the last of the German army was defeated. Because of the K98's great design, many poor countries that had been defeated by the German army took K98's from the defeated enemy and issued them to their own army. Some countries even had left-over factories that made K98's keep building them. Ironically, since the State of Israel was founded in 1947, the Allies gave K98's that were built by Nazis to Israeli army. Most K98's were taken out of service by other countries in the 1950's and 1960's. The K98 is still used for ceremonial purposes in Germany today.
Assuming you mean formatting as in preparing a disk for use, there are two main types of formatting. The first is a low-level or physical format, and the other is an upper level or logical format. A low-level format creates the tracks and sectors. A high-level format may clear the tracks and sectors, but often just verifies them, and it will add a file-system to the disk.
When you format a diskette, both types of formatting takes place. The drive lays down the tracks and sectors. While doing that, it verifies the newly created sectors, and then at the end of that, it creates the boot record and the two FAT tables.
Formatting a hard drive is much different from formatting a diskette. It is a three step process. In the old days, you had to first low-level format the hard drive. That required using either a program stored on the controller (and a weird Debug command sequence to access it) or a third-party utility. That is where the sectors are created, and you often had to type in a defect map so the drive would know where its bad spots were. Hard drives are not perfect, and if there are bad spots, you'd want to skip them and lay sectors past them. The second part of the step was to create a partition table. The third step was to run the Format program in DOS or Windows to do the higher level formatting.
However, modern hard drives come with a low-level format and refuse to let you low-level format them. It is physically impossible for them to correctly low-level format themselves, since by their design, factory equipment would be required. If you try to low-level format them, they will intercept the commands, pretend to low-level format, but only wipe the logical contents without touching the sector and track boundaries. So that means you can only partition them and do a high-level format.

How do you remove all data before recycling a computer?
"Back up your entire hard drive, your computer should have a program that allows you to back up your hard drive. If not, buy an external hard drive or a flash drive at least 8-16gb, and copy all the files in your hard drive to the external drive."
I do not believe this to be an adequate answer to the issue.
The question is how do I remove all data before recycling the PC, not how do I back my computer up.
To completely eradicate all data I have used several methods.
I have an old microwave on an extension cable in my garage that use to initially microwave the hard disk.
I insert the hard disk and then leave the area and flip the switch in the other room. After about 30 seconds I turn it off and come back to the drive. I don't know how safe it is to stand in the room at the same time so I would recommend against it. The drive causes the microwave to create bright sparks during the microwaving period.
The next stage is to physically degrade the drive. Microwaving it has probably degraded the magnetic platters but you cannot be too sure.
You will need to use a large metal mallet and strike the drive several times until it is completely destroyed. I should be in 2 or more peices before accepting that it is no longer usable.
At this stage you will be able to recyle the remaining computer parts safe in the knowledge that it is unlikely that someone will be able to access your data.
Some people will claim that you can zero the drive 10 times and achieve the same result of making your data inaccessable to anyone.
They are wrong, instead I recommend completely destroying your hard disk to ensure complete safety.
Kind Regards
Peter
How do you install Windows XP Windows 2000 and Windows 98 software on Windows 7?
If I understand your question correctly, you already have Windows 7 on your PC, and you also want to have Windows XP, Windows 2000, and Windows 98 running as well.
The easiest way to do this would be to install a virtual machine and operating system. I recommend VMWare Player, which is a free virtualizing system which is compatible with just about any "guest" OS. For example, I have two flavors of Linux and Windows 98 running as virtual machines on my XP host machine.
Other options would include the Sun VirtualBox, or Microsoft Virtual Server. I think VMWare Player is the easiest and most reliable.

Will windows 98 run on a dual core processor?
It will run, but very poorly. I recommend not using Windows 98. Windows 98 is very unsecured, incompatible, and very unreliable in todays computers.
