What is an ADSL filter?

ADSL filter is a passive electrical circuit, (low pass filter) which is used along with an ADSL modem (for internet access). It can be built into an ADSL modem or is provided as a small box along with the modem. On one side it connects to the telephone network side. Other side has two connections one for connecting the phone and other one to connect to the ADSL modem. It essentially filters the high frequencies, which the modem uses, and thus prevents it from interfering with the telephone signals which uses lower frequencies for audio signals.

Your DNS server is 10.1.1.1 but what does that tell you about your primary and secondary DNS?

A DNS server is a server that looks up the IP address of the web server you are trying to access. You can change what DNS servers you connect with by using OpenDNS or a DNS service like Google's DNS server at 8.8.8.8. 10.1.1.1 is a local IP address which would could be your router, so your router is acting as your LAN's DNS server in that case.

How do you connect an Ethernet dsl cable to the back of your modem if the phone line port is smaller than the Ethernet dsl cable?

You don't - you'll need an Ethernet card for your computer. A regular voice/fax modem is different than a high-speed/network connection, so you need a different 'card' (with a socket that will match your cable). If you can't find a socket that your Ethernet cable fits, then you don't have an Ethernet card installed!

What is a DSL filter used for?

A DSL filter is used to shield telephones, fax machines, etc, from "digital noise" and / or unwanted interference from other devices. They are recommended for use with most landline phones and similar devices.

What would DCL mean on a 1991 Lincoln Continental?

DCL stands for 'data control logger'. The only thing I can suggest if the light is flashing, is to scan the computer for fault codes if it has not been done.

AnswerIt means that your ground wires are going bad and they need to be checked as soon as you can bring it some where.

DCL stands for Data Communications Link. A known problem with these cars as they age is the instrument cluster will begin to throw erratic indicators (especially Check DCL) and eventually fail altogether. The cluster is obsolete; Ford no longer manufactures it, so you will have to get a refurbished unit. These folks did well by me with mine:

Answer

Had someone on eBay fix mine. Has worked perfect for years. Fixed for only $70. All bulbs replaced as well. Search eBay for DCL error. Very quick!

Why does DSL work when there is no dial tone on telephone line?

They are separate systems in your phone line. The DSL is a digital signal that has nothing to do with the analog phone signal. The bandwidth of a phone line is large enough to handle both with no issues.

Which Qwest DSL Service plan for the internet is better?

QWest only has about five plans currently, and they're all based on Internet speeds. By all means, the 40 MBPS is the best they offer and it's only $44/month. Even that's a trickle compared to what countries outside the US get. Be aware that ISPs frequently advertise "best-case scenario" speeds that they can't even deliver most of the time.
