You're probably thinking of the one who was the most famous - Erwin Rommel. He was a German. There were a lot of others but they are not well-known.

Very few Italians fled abroad. Argentina and Paraguay were the main destinations for wanted Germans.

The British had; Mark I (1915 Little Willie & Big Willie) the Mark IV came out in 1917 & the Mark V 1918. The French had the Ft's & the Char.

With the acute material shortages of 1944 it was deemed necessary to further simplify to save resources. This resulted in the MG 45, also called MG42V, which modified the breech mechanism of the MG42 so that it didn't completely lock before firing. This increased the theoretical rate of fire even further, the weapon now only weighed 9 kg and - most importantly -production was simplified and needed only steel of minor quality. First tests were undertaken in June 1944, but development dragged on and eventually only ten were ever built and it was about 1900 rounds per min. as long as the barrel didn't melt first.

I believe that the government at that time, wanted to side with the Axis powers, however, they remained neutral. Later on the war, it was looking like that the Allied powers were going to win, so I believe that's why.

Several significant US actions in early Cold War Europe were:

1) The Truman Doctrine of Containment on the 12th of March 1947. This effectively stated America's position against the Soviet Union, although indirectly. Furthermore, it pledged American support for the free peoples of Europe. It became the basis of US foreign policy during the Cold War and led to the Marshall Plan.

2) General George Marshall proposed the Marshall Plan to the American Congress on the 5th of June 1947, suggesting that economic aid be given to Europe (it was offered to Russia but they rejected it and subsequently prevented any Eastern European nations accepting). The intention was to support the struggling economies of the European nations after WWII, thus preventing the unstable conditions that gave birth to the Nazi regime in the 1930s from happening again. It also had the political motive of expanding US markets and leading to a prosperous Western Europe which would, in turn, be less susceptible to communist ideology. Finally, it was the method with which America attempted to enforce the Truman Doctrine. The first payment was approved by the US Congress in 1948.

Pitch, Roll and Yaw The Axis that is aligned with the fuselage of the airplane is the main X-axis. Rotation about this axis is called Roll. If the nose goes Up or Down this is the Pitch. Rotation about the Vertical axis is Yaw or when the tail goes from side to side.

As of May 2014 there are not many locations where you can download the 1998 Axis and Allies full game. Two places where this game can be found include Torrent and the Axis and Allies site.

I totally agree with Churchill and Roosevelt after recalling what had happened in the last World War; they wanted to do anything to prevent it; Even if it meant granting murderers diplomatic immunity.

After the First World War, the Treaty of Versailles - for Hungary it was the Treaty of Trianon - meant that the country lost two thirds of its original territory and naturally felt that it was unfair. It lost citizens whose mother tongue was Hungarian to Czechoslovakia (more than 1 milion people); to Romania (more than 1.6 million people); to Serbo Croatian Kingdom (about half a million people)to Austria (some 25,000 peole). Revisionism and irredentism grew. Hungary tried to find an ally which shared the bad opinion about the Treaty and the new borders. Unfortunately the only country which felt the Threaty of Versailles very humiliating and considered revenge was Germany.
