In the racing world, both drag and circle track, as well as 4X4's, and boats, it is common practice to put a 350 crank, 6 inch connecting rod, and a special piston, into a 400 block, making a 383. The 400 crankshaft has too long of a stroke, for high performance.

What kind of engine to transmission bolt pattern does a 944 1987 5 sp 2.5 have?
Actually the bolt pattern for the transaxle is not really an issue because the torque tube of the 944 is what you would bolt up to the V8 or V6 your thinking of. The transaxle is in the rear of a Porsche 944 and a long torque tube runs from the rear to the front. This torque tube has a very generic bolt pattern and it is very easy to adapt a plate to it that will mate up to most any V8 or V6 bellhousing. This makes the swap easier that you think. So the transaxle is not a big deal as it will still be bolted to the factory torque tube so this swap would require just one adapter at the very front of that tube.
The reasons that a truck doesn't start are endless, but the main causes of engine failure are oil leakage, no gas, dead spark plug, and dead battery.
This is for the condensation from the AC system to drain. What is happening in your case is that the heater core is leaking and radiator fluid is draining out the AC condensation drain.
What is the difference between Fords and Chevys?
Fords are characterized by slightly higher displacement V8 engines (Ford 302 vs. Chevy 300, Ford 351 vs. Chevy 350, Ford 402 vs. Chevy 400). Ford is also a more economy minded producer in more modern times, while Chevy is less so because of the use of the Buick and Olds brands.
In performance, Chevy engines are often slightly more powerful, the 350 normally produced a maximum of 310 hp opposed to the Ford "windsor" 351 that made 290.
Ford is known for many smaller sized cars, like the Escort, Tempo, and Marshall, while many GM cars are Buick, Pontiac or the retired Oldsmobile--although there are some Chevy versions of the smaller cars.
The Chevy Small Block V8 is a very versatile engine, having been used in every GM brand, by marine stern-drive companies and even in ultralight flying machines. It is a common hotrodding engine.
The Ford Windsor is prized because it was the first pony-car engine.
Ford is known to be the original pony-car manufacturer, starting witht he mustang, whose name (a breed of horse) created the term.
Although with the flat-head V8 ford began the hotrodding trend in the '32 duece roadster, starting in the 70s Chevrolet took control of hotrodding, mainly because ford went through many different engines (MEL, Lincoln Y-block, Ford Y-block, Ford FE, Ford Windsor, Ford Cleveland, Modular V8 or V10) while Chevrolet still makes similar engines to those found in '60s corvettes and camaros, the Chevy Bigblock and Smallblock.
As far as economy goes, there is very little difference between the two companies.
It is interesting to note that both companies supplied parts for AMC cars--the gremlin could have a Chevrolet transmission hooked to a Ford 170 I6--proving there is in reality very little difference between their products.
Between the Ford Galaxie and Mustang, and the Chevy Nova both companies garner much respect from hotrodding enthusiasts.

Rear differential capacity on a 2004 Chevy 1500?
The capicity is approx. 2 quarts. You drain the oil by removing the 10 bolt cover. Remember, on a rear end without a drain plug allways remove the fill plug first. If you remove the rear cover and the fill plug is "frozen" you're hosed! No way to refill. NOTE: The "punkin" has a boss on the casting where the drain plug should be. GM cheaped out and didn't put one in. You can. Simply drill and tap for whatever size pipe plug you want. Usually 3/4" NPT. This needs to be a pipe thread. A bolt thread will leak.

Very very good point, this happened to me. I had already drained the rear differential and put the cover back on. I struggled for several hours trying to remove the fill plug (drilling, chiseling, hammering, etc.), but the plug kept getting worse.
I improvised: (Idea from 13 year old nephew who heard me cursing up a storm.)
My 1996 Chevy truck comes with a breather hose on top of the rear differential housing. I disconnected the hose on top and filled it back up via a 1/8" hole, than reconnected the hose. Note: The oil bottles come with a pointed cap. Make sure to cut a very small opening at the end. It must fit into the 1/8" hole.

You cant get your front hub nut off your 93 Chevy sub four wheel drive Please help?
If not exposed, expose the axle nut. If it is exposed do not remove wheel. Put wheel back on once you have exposed the nut. Place the vehicle back on the ground. Now you can remove the nut without the axle spinning. When you have removed the nut raise the vehicle off the ground support and continue with the repair.
