The dealership told me that my problem is due to a glitch in the computer which is either being caused by the catalytic converter or the O2 sensor, both of which are functioning properly, but one of them is setting off something in the computer which is causing the check engine light to stay on. They have reset it, only to have it come back on about 2-3 days later. I've driven it for 3 years with no problem. If all your fluid levels are fine and the car is driving properly, I wouldn't be terribly concerned. But it's always a good idea to have someone read the active codes to make sure a more serious problem isn't lurking underneath. Also, over the past year or so, I've noticed that evertime I drive over 70 mph, my check engine light starts flashing.
