Football is big, but not as big as in Gainesville. Tallahassee is known for its rolling hills and huge live oak trees. It is a left-leaning town in an often right-leaning state. It is home to Florida's oldest high school, Leon, and many other public and private schools.
In my opinion, Tallahassee is a great place to live. There are community-wide events, such as seasonal festivals, Saturday morning markets, and block parties downtown before every football game, but I wish there were more sometimes.
