The underwater kelp forests (giant kelp) along the shore provide calmer areas for marine life. This is part of a symbiotic relationship between the kelp and the sea otters that inhabit the area. By consuming the sea urchins that would otherwise destroy the kelp, the sea otters help maintain the complex coastal ecosystem.

Aleutian Islands are a group of more than 300 small volcanic islands forming part of the Aleutian Arc in the Northern Pacific Ocean, occupying an area of 6,821 sq mi (17,666 km²) and extending about 1,200 mi (1,931 km) westward from the Alaska Peninsula toward the Kamchatka Peninsula.

The islands were explored in 1741 by Vitus Bering, a Danish navigator employed by Russia, and remained under Russian control until Alaska was purchased by the United States in 1867. The islands are the site of U.S. military bases and research stations.

I am not sure but I think it depends on in which waters the island was born in. If by example a new Island arises in the waters of the Bahamas. It will become property of the Bahamas automatically. If the Island arrises in International waters any men can make it his own.

They are 8670 miles (approx. value) away from each other. Note that this is a straight distance between the two places. The actual distance may vary according to the flight path or road/sea route chosen.

Japan is an island nation located in the Pacific Ocean. Some physical features of Japan are: mountainous regions, numerous hot springs, coastal areas, high elevations and it is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire which makes the country prone to earthquakes.

While they are NOT "true" interstate highways- since they do not go to other states- there are 3 highways on Oahu that were built to the design standards of Interstates, and funded by the Interstate Highway program. They are known simply as H1, H2, and H3. PS- the newest, H3, runs from Kaneohe to Pearl Harbor- during a rainstorm, there are 23 waterfalls that can be seen from the highway- Beautiful!

The Palm Islands are actually a man made strip of land off the coast of the Persian Gulf. Located in the city of Dubai, the islands are named the Palm Jumeirah, the Palm Jebel Ali, and the Palm Deira.

It really depends on what country we're talking about. Each individual country in the tropics has it's own popular dishes and food traditions. The peoples' diets will also reflect the kinds of products being imported into that specific country, the type of agriculture it has and natural resources. Generally from my travel experiences seafood and fruits are very popular in this region. Seafood because there is often an ocean or sea that the country borders and fruits because in hot climates these really flourish.

I assume you are speaking of the giant coagulation of plastic waste in the Pacific Ocean nearly twice the size of Texas. Yes. it is still there. It probably will be for some time. Cleaning it would require a cleanup effort that would make the efforts on the bp spill look small.
