Follow the top rad hose down to the water outlet, remove the 2 bolts that hold the outlet down. Old coolant will drain. The stat is in the water outlet; look at how it sits in the outlet then remove it, clean old gasket, install stat same as old one was, install gasket with sealer, snug bolts EVENLY so as not to crack housing.Add coolant to rad, leave rad cap off for 20 minutes to bleed air out of system and top off. Done. I hope this helps you. Mark

Sure. Can you open the lid? If so, there is only a clip that holds the lock in. Remove the lock, and with a small screwdriver, or pin, work what is left of the shank out of the cylinder of the lock, replace the lock, and you are back in business.

The ignition module is located under the three ignition coils. The same bolts that hold the coils in place also retain the module to the mounting bracket. To find the coils, follow the ignition wires from the front of the engine to where they attach at the rear. The wires clip to the coils.

Why won't your 91 Buick Century idle?

On a 16 year old car, I would first replace very single vacuum hose under the hood. Replace them one at a time as to not get confused. If you notice the brakes are hard to push, suspect a busted brake booster diaphram. If you have not replace the plugs/plug wires, in the last 75,000 miles, replace them.

How long can a car sit down without being driven for?

A car will sit a while before a battery goes dead but the length of time is very dependent on the battery's condition and the weather. It can sit indefinitely if it is properly put away. Top up with oil, drain the gas tank and keep the car out of the weather. Check the battery regularly.

How do you replace a low coolant sensor on a 2001 Buick Century?

Take it to the nearest mechanic and fork out about $200... Or for a real answer...the sensor is on the passnger side of the radiator below the radiator cap. It is black and square and has a single plug at the bottom. It is held onto the radiator by a metal retaining clip. Remove the clip and the sensor pulls out of the radiator. Disconnect the wire by pulling carefully on the plastic lock and pull on the plug. Fluid will leak out to level of sensor. Drain or place catch basin below sensor plug to catch radiator fluid. Sensor can be purchased through a dealer for around $70 US, or Aut*Z*ne for under $40 US. Your choice.

Where is the thermostat located on a 1998 Buick Century?

If it's like most GM cars of that era, it's located at the opposite end of the upper radiator hose, under the ball shaped metal thing, inside it's own mounting container. Remove the upper radiator hose (large one coming out of the radiator on the driver's side) and then the two or four bolts that hold it down. Careful if it's tough as oftentimes it will strip the screw mounts of the mounting container. Then you'll have to remove the two bolts that hold that on,all the while getting radiator fluid all over. MAKE SURE TO DRAIN SOME RADIATOR FLUID FROM THE RADIATOR, and that the CAR IS COLD. Replace the gasket, and use some silicon gasket sealer on both surfaces for trouble free installation. Also this holds that darn gasket in place better as you tighten up. Don't over tighten as you need to let the heat expand first, after running to check for leaks (about 5 minute run-time) then tighten a little if need be.
