Going through the same problem on a 1990 Town car.... The biggest problem is that its a very tight fit and the book I have has information for a certified technician it seems!! Your best bet is to get a manual, try to avoid the Chilton manual which is what I have and it's not very easy to follw. Haynes is usually really good and shows lots of illistrations. Try to go from the cheapest problem and work up. ( Lower pressure sensor, new thermostat, etc. ) I found alot of tips and trial by error on line. Good luck

If you mean heater core it's very easy...remove the right side cover under the radio 1 screw and a white bracket hold it in. Disconnect the two heater pipe clips and remove them, then pull out the heater core.

This might actually be as easy as using the interior light dimmer switch. On the left side of the steering wheel on the dashboard to the lower left side of the instrument panel are three switches, one of them looks like a half a wheel sticking out at you...this is a rotary switch that turns on/off the interior lights and also dims or brightens the instrument panel and enviromental control panels. How do i know this...i couldn't figure out why mine was off...until I tried to turn on the interior lights and realized that switch was in the off position and hence all the panel lights were also off...told you it was simple. if this isn't the problem..i would check fuses first, then wiring,moving from the obvious to the more difficult possible solutions.

It sounds like your heater coil is low on coolant and drains your radiator every time you turn it on. Try letting your van warm up completely, then turn your heater on full blast and then check your radiator coolant level, if its low, that's your problem. Just keep adding until full.
