If this is about a car:

the heater in a car is basically another radiator, but this one sitting inside the car. When you turn the heater on you draw heat from the engine and into the car. If you aren't running the car hard enough the temperature in the engine will drop.

External combustion engine is the answer you're looking for.

Low coolant due to a leak is a very likely cause.

Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses going to the heater core at the firewall. Use a garden hose to flush the core starting by back flushing it by inserting the hose on the outlet side then moving to the inlet side. Continue flushing until the water is perfectly clean. Do not use too much pressure or you will cause a leak in the core.

Disc Brakes: As you step on the brake pedal fluid (which cannot be compressed) is forced from the master cylinder to the individual brake calipers forcing them to apply equal pressure to the piston (located in the caliper) which puts outward pressure on the brake pads which are attached to the brake rotor (and wheels) forcing the rotor and wheels to stop. Drum brakes: Similar except the brake linings are located inside the brake drum and when pressure applied linings expand against the brake drum forcing the wheel to stop

did you check the heater core because my truck did that and that was what was wrong

This is normal for a car. This occurs because the engine has to work a little harder to pump up the heat, and this results in higher RPM.

The most common cause of this failure is a broken blend door. Check heatertreater.net for diagnostic information and an inexpensive fix.

Plugged heater core. Try flushing it.

There were 2 options for the rear control units, 1 was AC only, 1 was heat and AC. If your controls above the second seat only have 1 knob, it's AC only, the heat/AC version has 3 knobs. The correct Answer: 1996 - 2000 (Old Body Style) Tahoes and Yukons only got the rear air option. Suburbans and Yukon XL's get the Heat and AC option.

The heater matrix could be blocked. Best option is to disconnect the two pipes going to the matrix, first finding the flow pipe (put your hand on the pipes to find the hottest one.) Once disconnected, backflush with a garden hose by putting it on the return pipe (the cooler one), and turn on the hose, flushing the matrix. Reconnect the hoses refill system.

Could be,

low on coolant,

stuck open thermostat,

plugged heater core,

faulty temp blend door actuator,

The thermostat is the most likely culprit. The major clue is that the engine temp stays in the lower middle of the gauge - the heater core would not cause this. The thermostat is most likely stuck in the open position - needs replacement.

Could be many things. Can't say exactly what. But, here are a few things I would check. Do you have trees in the area you park your car? If so, you could have leaves pine needle or other dibree in you heater vent that could have caught fire from your heater motor. I actually had this happen once, it filled my pickup cab with wood smoke. It smelled like that every time I used the heater until I sold the truck. You heater core could have a leak and the antifreeze smell could be coming through your vents. Or your heater motor itself could be going bad and melting the winding on the motor armiture. I'm sure there could be other things like electrical shorts, lost cigar behind the ashtray. Hope that gives some help.

The heater blower motor itself is located under the hood on the passenger side of the car.

The Heater core is Either clogged or has gone out. If so you will notice either a leak of antifreeze or you will smell it when you turn your heater on, and your clutch needs to either be adjusted or replaced depending on how long the part has been on your car

if it is blowing cool air, and all the buttons are postioned to bow hotair it could be that..

the connection to the coil has been disconnected, which is quite simple to fix, u just need to take it to ur general electricain and we will either screq back the connection on (depending on how it was orginaly connected:, or he will soldier it on. (soldiering iron)

You set a heater to a certain temperature and when it reaches that it turns off.

hi, could be many answers. Check the water contol valve operation ( under hood connected to heater hoses), do you have a full load of coolant?, also air mix door under dash, is the temp of the coolant hot?.Check them all out, you'll find it

It is a tough job, you will need to remove your front seat, it will be nearly impossible if you don't have all the room that you will need. It will be difficult to work with the front seat in place but, if you do it, it can be done. I say remove the seat because it will be much easier to work without it. there are only four bolts holding it on anyhow. Okay, let's get down to it. You will need to remove your inner fender skirt (the plastic fender)You will need to remove all the bolts and or nuts holding your fan blower cover to the firewall, there are either eight or nine to remove. After those are removed, take off the housing, also take off the ground and your realay switch,go to the interior of the car and wiggle the interior plastic housing loose, now comes the tricky part, there are small screws holding an aluminum cover over the heater core, remove all these small screws, also remove any rubber grommets, now wiggle that loose, you can use a screw driver to get it loose where it is stuck, DON'T force it, now reach in a pull out the heater core, go in reverse to put it back together. Hope this helps, I just did one myself.

sounds like the head gasket ...same thing just happened in my 97 cavalier
