But DON'T try to straighten them. You can repair most aluminum sheet metal and some extrusions. It is recommended to use heat between 300 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit as aluminum tends to crack when straightened cold. If you heat the aluminum over 575 degrees Fahrenheit you could damage the aluminum alloy properties beyond repair. Measuring bare aluminum with a non-contact thermometer is not accurate because of its shiny surface. Spray a thin coat of gray or black primer on the area to be measured. With aluminum castings and aluminum wheels you can only repair cosmetic scratches. If they are bent or cracked, you should always consider replacement. If you try to straighten a bent aluminum wheel it can have cracks you can't necessarily see and could break out causing a blowout and possibly kill. If this wheel belongs to someone else, you need to realize that no auto maker recommends repairing bent aluminum wheels. I strongly suggest you get another wheel.

Should have a "check engine" light on also. Have codes read. Could be a misfire code. May need a basic tuneup.

The filter does not have a good seal. If it is a pressurized system remove the filter clean the lines and filter clips and reinstall. If it still leaks then you may have a bad filter.

Just to the shop for diagnosing and repair ( try not to accelerate briskly ) A blinking check engine light means that a misfire has been detected The vehicle will need to be scanned for any trouble codes to diagnose and then repair the problem . If you were to continue driving and just ignore the blinking check engine light you can cause damage to the catalytic converter which would cost you a lot more money

that is usually caused by wheels out of balance.have wheels balanced then check U-joints they may be worn and need replacing Start with the simple stuff, have the tires balanced and check the rims to see if they're bent. There ARE other things to look at, but those are the most common and least expensive to deal with.

Your steering wheel will vibrate at higher speeds due to either wear in your front tires or improper balance of tire pressure. IF these are not the promblem look to see if there is damanage to the shaft under the vehicle between the tires. Look at it or get it looked at before it gets worse, believe me I know how expensive it can be later!

I don't know the exact reason it is bumpy, but here is a solution. Try to find a rubber spring to replace the shock at the end of the leaf springs. There is one in the Truckin magazine, this will also improve your stability.

High speed vibration is often an indication of a wheel that is out of balance or a bent rim. It can also be a bent driveshaft or bad U-joint. Vibration when you brake at high speed is almost always a warped rotor on the disk brakes.

A car's steering wheel will vibrate when driving if the car's alignment needs to be adjusted.

If the check engine light is flashing that means an engine cylinder misfire has been detected

Could be a problem with a tire(s) such as balance or tire belt separation. Also have the front end, steering and suspension checked for loose/worn parts.

Automatic transmissions lose acceleration driving uphill because of the torque converter. The engine turns one side of the torque converter and the other side is splined into the input set of the planetary gears. The torque converter uses fluid to turn the input shaft in the transmission. When the transmission is locked into gear and going uphill the torque converter has to work against power losses from the tires on the road and when the engine is working harder the torque converter cuts or "shears" the fluid and it causes the transmission to overheat. Always make sure you have enough fluid in the transmission

If it only happens when it's raining, your coil pack is likely cracked and moisture is getting in. This means that your engine is misfiring because of the moisture. It should be replaced, but if you need to get somewhere with it, spray some WD-40 on the coil pack to displace the water.

The compression tester has a plug that goes in the spark plug hole and reads the compression within the cylinder. Remove the sparkplugs. (Mark the plug wires with masking tape so you can put them back where they belong) Insert the compression tester and have someone activate the starter and roll the engine over a few times.

It can cause a lot of extra stresses on the suspension and steering linkage.

What you are describing is typically caused by a warped rotor. Sometimes a disk brake rotor will warp after it has become overheated, typically from the brakes working too hard, such as going down a long hill, that's one reason it's a good idea to use a lower gear and let the engine do some of the braking for you.

Sometimes it can be caused by loading the vehicle with too much weight then the brakes have to work a little extra hard.

Whatever the cause, warped disk brake rotors must be replaced or "turned", but many of the newer rotors are already too "thin" to turn so the only option is to replace them.
