What causes car to shake after starting then smooths out after 30 seconds or so?
It could be caused by any of a number of problems.
Some of the possibilities are:
* One or more worn sparkplugs that cannot deliver a hot enough spark. It may be providing enough spark to function after the engine warms up. * Low compression on one or more cylinder. Any cylinder with low compression will have a little more difficulty firing. * A sticking or plugged injector that has possibly flooded the engine when it was turned off or even not providing enough fuel at startup. * A sticking or poorly seated valve. * Oil fouled plugs. * Vacuum leak on one or more of the cylinders.
New tires certainly wouldn't hurt. Your bouncing and shaking is most likely caused by and "impact bubble" or a belt separation on one or more of the tires. Bald tires, result in MAJOR safety issues, including traction, steering, handleing, stopping, and if a blow out occurs, you will be throwing rubber and steel shrapnel into everyone else's path that's behind or beside you. Get those tires replaced!
What causes a squeak in car tires and a squeaky rattle when going over small bumps?
Squeak in tires (when turning in particular) could mean low tire pressure, or bald tires.
What does it mean when a car horn goes off while the car is switched off?
When a car horn goes off while the car is switched off, it means the horn has a bad ground.
What causes your 82 chevyS10 pickup truck to vibrate when it's idling high?
first check engine timing this is a major cause of vibration in a stationary vehicle, or non firing cylinder could be electrical or mechanical, then harmonic balancer, then look for broken engine mount.
Google for 'misfire'.
What would cause a Mercury sable to shake during acceleration?
If your car shakes while accelerating check your motor mounts. Then check your transmission.
Your car has a shimmy when you apply the brakes at hi speed?
The most likely cause is a warped rotor. It can also be other things so have you brakes and suspension inspected.
Are atv's driveable with a damaged cv joint?
yes and no......There will be some shaking and wheel jerking but you should be able to make it home without causing any further damage
What does it mean when your rear of your car shakes and squeeks when drivings?
Something is out of balance or possibly a wheel bearing.
What is wrong the car shakes while driving?
IT COULD BE SEVERAL THINGS, 1 THE TIRES ARE NOT BALANCED IF ALREADY DONE THEN BRING IT BACK AND SEE IF ANY OF THE COUNTER WEIGHTS HAVE FALLEN OFF IT HAAPPENS, OR ONE OF YOUR TIRES STEEL BELT HAS BROKEN AWAY, 2 YOU MAY NEED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT, 3 HAVE TIE RODS, AND ALL STEERING RELATED PARTS CHECKED, THEY DO GO AND WILL CAUSE A SHAKE IN THE FRONT.
No, the wheel and tires should both be straight at the same time.
What type of cleaning solvent do you use to clean the engine head?
Most shops use something called "Stoddard solvent", which is closely related to dry-cleaning solvent. Stoddard solvent is used to clean most oily parts. It's also good to have a stiff brush that can be used to break loose the stubborn stuff.
If you're talking about cleaning the head while it's still in the engine... most of those are just away to separate you from your money and don't really work.
Why would your car make a vibrating and shaking movement when it reaches the speed of 50-65?
I would suspect wheel balance.
Why does my rear wheel wobble back and forth down the road?
because maybe your really fat go on a diet PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! especaly if your rear is wobbaling
Why would your vehicle vibrate at high speeds?
My van did this as well and turned out I just needed my tires balanced..no biggie..and it went back to driving smoothly on the highway
Answeryou might just want to check to see and make sure the insides of your rims are clean too. snow or dirt that is caked on the inside of the rim will cause this. and by inside the rim i don't mean in the air chamber of the wheel, but just on the inner circle of a wheel. gl. AnswerIf none of the above work, look over every tire very carefully making sure you see no humps or bumps(goose eggs). You could have possibly broke a belt in the tire. SNM AnswerIf it snowed recently, and the problem did not exist before the snowstorm, there may be frozen snow/ice stuck to one or more wheels, causing imbalance. Take the care to a self-serve car wash and spray the wheels from underneath the car and in the wheel wells. BWyes it could be ur tires but it could turn out to be balljoints and or tirod ends
What can cause the steering wheel shake at idle after the car was hit in the front left side?
If other things vibrate as well as the steering wheel you might have a damaged motor/transmission mount.
Do diesel engines require spark plugs?
No diesel engines use the "heat of compression" to cause fuel to ignite not electrical ignition.
What is the purpose of rear shock absorber?
It keeps the body of the car from bouncing around. The springs help the car ride smooth.
uneven tire wear..rotating your tires regularly may correct the problem
Have 2007 Kenworth T800 that shakes at 45-50 mph what could it be?
Poorly balanced tires (either due to lack of weights or due to clumps of mud on the rim) would be the first culprit, especially if it only happens in that speed range. Transmission, fuel injection, and turbo problems may also be the reason.
Straightening an aluminum alloy wheel is NOT recommended. Aluminum wheels are both lightweight and strong and are capable of carrying the vehicle adequately...
But DON'T try to straighten them. You can repair most aluminum sheet metal and some extrusions. It is recommended to use heat between 300 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit as aluminum tends to crack when straightened cold. If you heat the aluminum over 575 degrees Fahrenheit you could damage the aluminum alloy properties beyond repair. Measuring bare aluminum with a non-contact thermometer is not accurate because of its shiny surface. Spray a thin coat of gray or black primer on the area to be measured. With aluminum castings and aluminum wheels you can only repair cosmetic scratches. If they are bent or cracked, you should always consider replacement. If you try to straighten a bent aluminum wheel it can have cracks you can't necessarily see and could break out causing a blowout and possibly kill. If this wheel belongs to someone else, you need to realize that no auto maker recommends repairing bent aluminum wheels. I strongly suggest you get another wheel.
1999 Ford wind-star that shakes pretty badly upon takeoff what could this be?
Should have a "check engine" light on also. Have codes read. Could be a misfire code. May need a basic tuneup.
