Usually you will see an egg partially sticking out of the vent. The female will usually go to the cage bottom, pant, you may see blood at the vent, and otherwise the bird will act really sick. A bird that is eggbound MUST be treated by a certified avian vet immediately or the bird will die.

Caring for a flamingo isn't A LOT different from taking care of any other bird. The only things that are different, is the encloser, the food, the love, the vocal cords, and the tribe. :)

The enclosure must be much bigger than a regular bird. I wouldn't make it much bigger than a pond unless you're very rich. If you don't want it to fly away, you could raise a net with poles and put it >AROUND< the pond. The reason you must put it around is because they need land and space to fly not just over water. If you cannot afford the poles and the net, then you or a certified bird groomer can clip their wings so they cannot fly off. I would put a fence or something so that your flamingo can not walk off. Or you can go to www.KynleeExpertBird.com to buy the nets, poles, fence and/or the things you need for it. P.S. I would buy a little cave or something so that your flamingo has shade not unless there is a nice tree where you are putting your pet.

Most people buy their flamingo's food which is better than picking it, shooting it, or anything else you can do to their food. The reason to buy the food, is because some flamingos are picky about their food or their stomach can't handle stuff on the food. Flamingo's are really picky about how much love you give them. Some like a little and some like a lot. If you have children and you're children are young and want to play with the flamingo, I would prefer a trained flamingo.

Some people like to teach their birds to talk. That is impossible for the flamingo. They can only sqeal and squak.

Some birds come in packs like the graceful lovebirds. Flamingos travel in tribes and there are about 5 flamingos in a small tribe. So if you are getting more than one, you must get 4-20.

I do not recomend catching a bird and then keeping it because it could have a disease or it could be fierce so I would not catch one if I were you. Well, Parakeets breed in the beginning of Spring and Fall. As an example, I'm going to use Fall. On the first day of Fall (September 23 *2010*), would be the best time to put in the nest box. Maybe even earlier. Then, you should waite about an exact month. (My Parakeets mated after an exact month). Which would be October 23. Around those days---October 22,23,24--- your Parakeets should mate. You should at least waite a week (Example: October 22-29). <<< If you don't see your Parakeets mate within these days, they probably don't want to, or their not ready to breed yet. Your Parakeets should mate for a few days till their done mating. After their done mating, about 10 days later, her eggs should start to appear. Now, all you have to do, is sit back, and watch little, young, beautiful Parakeets grow up to be amazing pets! :D :D :D

Birds do not menstruate ("have periods"). Only mammals menstruate. If a female bird has blood or non-feces discharge coming out of her cloaca, she needs immediate medical attention. Birds can bleed to death very quickly.

A fox would eat an adult falcon if it could, but they love falcon chicks. However, the adult falcon is adept at defending its young.

Possibly if they are kept in the same cage and offered a nesting box, but usually budgies are monogamous.

Hi Probably not. If you found a bird it is probably injured and in a case of shock, which means it will not eat and it is probably going to die. Unless you are a vet, if it should heal, it will probably be unable to walk or fly. In that case, it would certainly die back in the wild, so I suppose you (and it) have nothing to lose by trying to keep it, unless you have a cat, in which case you probably don't have a bird but a meal. Your biggest problem will be to get it to eat. Maybe a little bread dipped in milk would work, but be prepared for the worst. Of course, if you "found a bird" and it's a healthy Scarlet Macaw worth about 2000 bucks, you are probably going to see signs around about a lost bird named Scarlet. In which case, keeping it is more a moral question than anything else. But, their cages are big and expensive, and they make a lot of mess. Phil
