What would cause a harmonic balancer to shimmy on a 350 Chevy engine?

The balancer has a piece of rubber that holds it together, The balancer is made of two pieces with rubber in the middle, and the rubber is coming apart. REPLACE BALANCER. The Pulley that's bolted on the balancer may be bent or not on stright and flush on the balancer, That would make the balancer look like its wobbleing too.

What is TBI?

TBI stands for Traumatic Brain Injury. Every year 1.5 million American suffer TBIs TBI stands for Traumatic Brain Injury.

Approximately 1.5 million Americans per year sustain a brain injury. Of those, 50,000 people will die as a result of brain injury, while 80,000 people per year will experience long-term disabilities as a result of their injury. There are two types of brain injury: traumatic brain injury, and acquired brain injury. Traumatic brain injury is a result of a direct blow to the head. The force is large enough to break through the skull and damage the soft brain, or to cause the brain to move within the skull. About 50 to 70 percent of all traumatic brain injuries are the result of car accidents. Other causes include:

• Slips and falls

• Violence

• Sports-related accidents An acquired brain injury is one that has occurred after birth, and is not hereditary, congenital, or degenerative. Common causes of acquired brain injuryinclude: * airway obstruction * near drowning * choking * injuries in which the chest has been crushed * electrical shock * lightening strike * trauma to the head or neck * blood loss * artery impingement * shock * heart attack * stroke * arteriovenous malformation * aneurysm Brain injuries are classified as closed or open. A closed head injury is a trauma in which the brain is injured as a result of a blow to the head, or a sudden, violent motion that causes the brain to knock against the skull. Closed head injuries can be diffuse, meaning that they affect cells and tissues throughout the brain; or focal, meaning that the damage occurs in one area. Closed head injuries can range from mild to severe. An open head injury, sometimes also called a penetrating head injury, results when an object penetrates the skull and enters the brain. Open head injuries are usually focal, which means that they affect a specific area of brain tissue. The prognosis of a brain injury is determined by a variety of factors, including the severity of the damage, the length and the severity of the coma, and the location and the size of any traumas. The more severe the injury, the longer the recovery period. The longer the recover period, the more long-term effects are likely.

How do you install a small block Chevy V8 engine 305 or 350 in a 1980 Chevy full size truck?

You hear tapping noise from your 305 Chevy small block engine?

Right off the bat, I am assumming that when you rev the motor up, the noise speeds up, as well. This would eliminate a rod knocking. I also would advise you to check the oil. The valves are the last to get oil, and if you are low, they will suffer. Next, smell the oil, on the dipstick. If you smell a lot of gas, then it might be time to change it. When you take shoft trips in your car, the motor does not fully warm up. So, it run rich on fuel, and more leaks by the rings, and into the oil, thus breaking it down, and hampering it's lubricating abilities. If it persists, after the oil change, then it is either an exhaust leak, or, a loose rocker arm. I would adjust the valves next, which is a good place to turn this job over to an expert. It get technicle from here on.

Just built a 305 Chevy engine and got timing set getting gas to the carb But Not going to the plugs All Help will be grateful?

I'm not sure if I understand your question. I'm sure your getting plenty of gas to the plugs; just no fire from your distributor. If this is the case then the first I'd check (since you say you just rebuilt it) is that the wiring harness is plugged in firmly to the distributor. If it is plugged in then you need to take a plug wire loose and see if you are getting spark by arcing it on the block.

ok if your not getin gas to plugs try a new carb or rebulding the one you have its probley the plungers in the carb are stuck other then that the carb might not be set right or the timing might be out 360 degree
