THE INERTIA FUEL SHUT OFF SWITCH IS LOCATED IN THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT ON THE DOOR HINGE SUPPORT ABOVE THE LEFT HAND INNER WHEEL HOUSE. Why Can't people read? This question is for RESET switch, not shut-off switch. All the posts I seem to find on reset switch, people are telling you how to hit the shut-off switch, that isn't the same. Reset switch turns it back on after the shut-off has been pushed. It's the same thing. It automatically trips to SHUT OFF the flow of fuel and you press it to RESET it.
96 grand Cherokee doesnt have a fan belt, its a serpentine belt. And if you look down to the right of the fan there is a pully which acts as the tensioner, youll use a socket to loosen it up and then youll be able to slide the old belt off. Keep the box from the new belt so you can see how the new belt loops around each pulley. Be sure to tighten the belt pretty tight so it has minimal play or youll get some sqeaking whenever you run your AC.
I had a 1989 Volvo 240 wagon that had a hard time not bottoming out on my driveway every day, so eventually the rear bumper actually FELL OFF all by itself! It's not unusual for the posts that hold it to the car to rust through. That said, if you don't get a good answer here (and you haven't tried this already) go to www.brickboard.com. They have an enormous database of information, all about Volvos. Good luck!
when you open your hood and you look on the valve cover you see on your left side of top of your cover a cable sticking out from a black piece that is the positioning sensor that cranksup the car.
If the key is stuck in the off position, try pulling straight up with pliers. Do not bend or twist the key as it may break. If the key is stuck in the on position you will probably need to replace the key barrel. There are little tabs sticking out inside the barrel and the knotches on the key clear them when you turn the key. They are spring loaded and if the spring breaks or gets jammed, it will lock up the key. I have overcome the spring as mentioned with pliers. But you must be careful as the barrel could be up to about a hundred dollars and the key is another up to fifty bucks itself. If you break it, added costs. If you give the dealer your VIN number, they will order a barrel that matches your key.
Good Luck!
Sometimes a hard turn of the steering wheel will unlock the wheel and you'll be able to remove the key. I had to try this several times. It took 5-10 minutes. Breathe deeply and stay patient.
1) If fuel tank is full you will need to siphon fuel out 2) Remove any type of skid plate or cover from fuel tank. 3) Disconnect fuel fill tube, wiring harness, and fuel lines from fuel tank. 4) Support fuel tank and remove hold down bolts(or nuts) for fuel tank strap. 5) Lower fuel tank to ground. NOTE: You may need to remove driveline on some vehicles to have room to get tank out. 6) Use brass punch to unscrew fuel pump locking plate on top of fuel tank. 7)Remove and replace fuel pump from tank and reassemble everything the same way you took it apart.
it uses a brand by acdelco, and you have to order it from a dealer. its called auto trak 2. if you don't use this specific fluid it will mess up your transfer case, i learned the hard way. and they wont recomend it until you've already had problems , that's how they make their money, good luck, it runs about 6-10 dollars a quart.
It's behind the panel to the left of the cigarrette lighter. You need a Torx 25 screwdriver and another screwdriver for those hex shaped screws, forgot the size. First unscrew the 2 Torx 25 screws beneath the steering wheel. Then unscrew the rest of those Hex screws on the bottom. The panels overlap, so be prepared for a lot of unscrewing. You do need to unscrew the middle black panel on the bottom, right beneath the cig lighter. It's held by two Hex shaped screws, one on each side and are hard to unscrew. Also you need to remove your spare change sliding tray to unscrew the last hex looking screw. Once you pop your panel off, the turn signal flasher is the right one. The Hazard flasher is the left one. You can find a replacement part at Autozone, and DON'T get the $184 Flasher switch, all you need is the signal flasher. It's shaped like a cylinder with TWO prongs on it.
you need to replace your ignition in the steering column or take it apart and rebuild it. having a locksmith work on it might cost you less then replacing it though.
unplug batt, undo 2 bolts on alt, remove belt by pushing down on tension pully, jack handle will help pry it off,it`s relly easy.
everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the library should have a professional manual available...in the reference section, you'll have to make copies of the important sections...good luck :)
all you have to do to get out the old one is there is a hole on bolth sides of the stero and if you get a hanger it will normally work and you just have to pull it out i thought i was going to break some thing but it was all good
I suppose it would depend on which side of the planet you are on. If it's clockwise on one side then it's counterclockwise on the opposite side.
I have a cash pit, I mean 97 Jacket 4.3L with 260k miles. As of late it began to have some faltering in it. First saw it while on the turnpike, the vehicle appeared to stagger a little and the RPMs would shudder 100RPMs or something like that. Presently it is encountering wavering while speeding up regularly in first or second. It keeps on shuddering at high paces also. Searching for guidance on what to have a go at dealing with first.
ONE....1.....uno...
under dash on drivers side, in either a clip adjacent to the steering column. or in convenience center.
There are four ways to find a ratio.
1 A dealer can normally tell from the vin number.
2 There are normally tags or labels on the axle that have part number, gear ratio, and fluid requirement
info.
3 You can count how many times you have to turn the driveshaft to get one complete turn of the tires.
4 You can divide the number of teeth on the ring gear and divide by number of teeth on the pinion.
You should see either a brake controller box under the dashboard, or a wiring harness under or through the back bumper for hooking power from the van to the trailer.
Hard to say. When burnishing in new pads, you should make 20-30 stops on flat roads going from 25 mph to a stop and allowing time for the rotors to cool as needed. A burning smell is not necessarily abnormal however.
slide in under the drivers side of the truck just behind the drivers set and look up inside of the frame rail and you will see it.
NO. In late 1999 Chevy redesigned The ENGINES and TRANSMISSIONS.
You must put the new designed 4L60E back in the 01. Nothing lower then late 1999 will interchange with it.
