The hood for a 1976 Corvette is not the same dimensions as a 1980 despite their similarities. Modifications can be made to the hood to make it work but it will not look factory.

Most likely the fuse is blown. Check that out. Or the switch on the brake pedal is shot if the fuse is good. Both of those good both bulbs may be burned out. Not likely though.

In any vehicle, the steering wheel can start shaking if there are problems with the front wheels. They could be out of balance, or there could be somthing physically wrong with the tire itself, like broken steel bands under the rubber tread. If you drove on any muddy roads, something as simple as a chunk of mud getting stuck on the rim can make the wheel be out of balance until it is cleaned off so I would look for any debris on the rims before I took them to a garage to be re-balanced. It's possible that there are issues with the steering components but I would rule out tire balance first.

More than likely your fan is not turning on. either the fan motor is fried or the temp switch that triggers it to start is faulty. On the freeway the wind from your speed is enough to keep it cool. Actually a constant speed of about 45mph or better should keep it cool. There are multiple ways to check the fan. If you are electrically inclined you should be able to figure it out. If not you'll probably have to find someone else to do it. If nothing else turning on the heater or defroster helps keep an over heating car cool longer if you have to drive it somewhere to get it worked on. .

Sounds like your electic fan is not working. Thing cause the fan not to work. Fan relay, fan motor, fan thermostat wiring to the components.

I agree, sounds like a relay, mine did the same thing. There are many relays make sure you get the right one. Plus corvettes do run hotter than other cars my 1988 ran 200 all the time and if its hot out and your in traffic 225 was normal.

These corvettes are bottom feeders. If you are not moving they are not cooling. The fan temps are set high - like 235 degrees. Your fan should start about the time you think the engine is going to overheat. You can turn on the a/c and that will start the second fan which will cool the car in heavy traffic.

It is located between the top of the intake manifold and the bottom of the tuned port plenum. You should be able to see it if you look between the runners. It is round and is in the middle of the intake.

A lot of the time Chevy used aluminum battery cables in their cars,(in particular my 1980) I was continually having starting and battery problems until I replaced the cables with copper.

I have a 90' ZR1 and the starter is under the plenum a costly job about $700 plus parts. They have to remove the top of the engine to get to it.

180 degrees I disagree the normal ipperating temp per the orig owners manual is from 200 no more than 250 degrees

Remove the wiring harness from the bottom of your 1987 Chevy Corvette power antenna. Remove the power antenna retaining nuts. Reverse the process to install your new power antenna.
