Might be the child lock is on. check that. I have a 98 Metro Lsi 4 door. and my door did the same ...but the child locks were bad and I had to have sum1 cut out those child locks. otherwise theyd never open ..good luck.

Yes, It is a Isuzu Amigo. Isuzu makes Metros and such for Chevy with Isuzu, Chevy, Suzuki and Subaru parts. Maybe Nissan parts too.

Remove the belt from your 1999 Chevy Metro water pump. Remove the water pump return hose. Remove the water pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to replace the water pump.

there are two bolts on the bottom af the alternator you have to loosen and one on top in an arch with a slot for adjustment loosen all three and pull the alt towards the front of the car to remove the belt. install the new one then snug the bolts and adjust the tension then tighten all bolts. even high quality belts will need tightened after they stretch,i usually have to re tighten twice then they are fine,dont overtighten belt tension or you may damage alt or water pump bearings

The only way to fix the dimmer switch is to replace it I have tried cleaning it lubercating it. nothing will fix it for good .so i had to replace it. It is a factory item.

I have a 1998 Chevy Metro and I live in Phoenix Arizona and I get 44 miles to the gallon when I run my a/c in the summer, and 62 miles to the gallon in the winter. Both figures are in town driving. Highway milage is much higher about 80 miles to the gallon. I left Phoenix and drove to Vegas and used 5 gallons of gas and that was climbing mountains between here and there. I love my car. It is a 5 speed, 3 cylinder, hatchback. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

I suffered a timing belt failure in a 3 cylinder 91 Chevy sprint, doing about 120 kilometers per hour(about 70 mph), with no damage to the engine. The engine end bearing seals were starting to leak, spraying oil on the belt, causing very premature failure... after a replaced belt, and seals, I've put on another 15,000 kilometers, and the car still goes :)

such a failure is bound to damage the engine.or something important.

timing does not need to be set on the 1.3l engine in model year 1999 as it is a distributor less igniton system all timing is done by the ecm

to change o2 sensor ,you need to buy a o2 sensor socket from a parts store then disconnect neg terminal on battery ,after that disconnect wire connecter on o2 sensor and remome o2 sensor

Most of these type questions would never be asked if driver's would open their owner's manual and read. This type information is contained within the owner's manual. If you do not have one, get one. You can get one at your dealer, or may find one at a salvage yard, laying in a glove box. You need the owner's manual for maintenance intervals, and other pertinent information. Why and how thee seem to be lost is a mystery to me. Question after question, asked on this site that can be answered by opening this little book. I have never owned a vehicle without having an owner's manual. I also see a lot of questions that can be answered by raising the hood and looking at the placards located there. Spark plug gap is just one. Amazing!

It will be screwed into the exhaust pipe somewhere between the exhaust manifold and the catalytic converter. Most likely on the front of the engine on the bottom, sticking out fron the pipe with a wire coming out of it. some were after the cat converter. my 94 is before the cat converter, but the 94 is also a split year I think. I dont know which way they were moving them (before or after). Mine sticks straight out of the exaust pipe about 6 inches below where it mounts to the manifold. If it were after the converter it would definatly be under the car on the exaust pipe.

I just put a new head on my 94 Metro with 97000 miles on it. I would say yes if the car has been good till now, but the main thing is the cost, I do all my on work so I'm out just the money for parts. My other ride is a F-150 4x4 that gets about 12 mpg on a good day going down hill with a tailwind. I drive 90 a day for work so you can guess the gas savings will pay off the parts I bought in less that a month. TedsToys

Where the upper radiator hose goes into the engine block. Disconnect the hose, and the t-stat should be inside the engine.
