Do homeschooled children receive enough attention?
Most homeschooled children get far more attention than other children, with the exception of special needs children.
We homeschool our 5th grade daughter and 1st grade son. This is our first full year of homeschooling. We pulled our daughter out of public school in January 2003. We spend a lot of time together doing schoolwork and other activities. Much more time together now, versus when they were in public school. And it's great time too. Not just sitting in the classroom time, but getting in the kitchen making cookies time and going outside on a nature walk time. My daughter and I have finally gotten to know each other again! Homeschooling has been great for our family!
If it's done correctly, they get more attention.
Homeschooling is really a form of one-on one tutoring. You can't help but get attention that way.Where you don't get attention is as part of a larger group if you are either not naturally assertive or just so-called 'average'.Homeschooling by definition ensures attention-unless the parent never does anything with the child....in which case, you wouldn't really be homeschooling!
In a large classroom setting, even the best-trained teacher is incapable of giving the individual attention necessary to help each student excel. Parents are not only able to devote much more time to their children, but they also know their pupils on a personal level. They are able to tailor their curriculum and teaching styles in ways that are most conducive to their child's productivity. This individualized attention is one of the advantages of home schooling.
Advantages/DisadvantagesRemember, home-schooled children receives a lot of attention. But schooling will depend on the parent/teacher/tutor's interest in teaching them at home. Also, since the children may be in a more comfortable background, they may learn more easily. Furthermore, schooling may require additional fees from tutors and other teachers, unless the parent is a teacher/tutor him or herself.

How does unemployment affect children their families and society?
A society is better off when the standard of living for the average person is higher. When there are more chickens bred for food we as a society can eat better. When there are more high definition flat TVs produced everyone can own one and hence live a happier life. Therefore we need every citizen to contribute his share to society in order to produce more goods that raise our standard of living. In an absolutly efficient society everyone would work to produce goods so everyone can enjoy those goods that are produced in order to have a high standard of living. When people are unemployed they burden society. They use the goods that other people create but they contribute nothing themselves. This clearly is inefficient.
One good thing however is that as unemployment rises inflation falls and goods are cheaper for those people still possessing jobs. Our government tries to balance inflation and unemployment rates using both fiscal and monetary policy, but I think that is beyond the scope of your question.

Why is early recognition of developmental delay and impairment is important?
Two reasons:
1) Dealing with learning disabilities usually involves teaching new study habits. The sooner you intervene, the easier it is to teach those new habits..."you can't teach an old dog new tricks."
2) If you intervene late, the student has already fallen behind. Not only will you have to teach new study habits, you're also going to have to get the student caught up on all the material they failed to learn before you intervened. If a kid is having trouble learning the fundamentals of reading in 1st grade but you don't address it until he's in 6th grade, he's going to be five years behind.
Is a 19 year old boy too old for a 15 year old girl?

Pre-teens don't exist in the truest sense. You are a child until you are 13-14. I think kids choose when they become a teenager. I am 10 but refuse to exept the title pre-teen. I am a child and I'll be a child until I don't want to be one. but generally a pre-teen should be a 12 year old

How does a Narcissist deal with having a child born with a disability?
I have a son with pretty severe disabilities and for a Narc my H does care quite a deal for our son. It is something I have never quite understood. Now that we are separated he takes our son every weekend and enjoys having him around. This puzzled me as I know he has full blown NPD and I actually questioned Sam V. about this strange, seemingly out of character, thing for a Narc. Sam V. said that they can get supply even from inanimate objects and can thusly also get some supply from a special needs child. That said, when my son turned 1 (9 years ago), my H began to work 60 hours a week. I tried to take vacations with him, which he refused to do, only to learn years later when he confessed to me that he couldn't take more than 4 days at a time to be with our son. Interestingly tho, is that he cannot handle it when our son gets sick or think he's in pain...it's almost like he is reliving pain in himself as a child. It's kinda wierd actually. So, even though my H does care for our son, it is still on his terms. Hope that's somewhat helpful.
