There is no 2nd option.

You have several options. 1. check that fan is coming on at correct temp. If too high replace sender / control unit. 2. If correct but because of use/ambient temp vehicle is still running to hot then following are pos. A) If a temp thing (going up a mountain etc.) turn heater to full put blower on max. B) For long term you need to obtain a temperature adjustable control unit (auto electricians) so that you can lower temp which fan cuts in at - this will also increase duration of fan use. C) Obtain specialist fan with better cooling properties than orig (Kenlow ).

If the speedometer and the odometer are not working, I would suspect the VSS (vehicle speed sensor). If only the speedometer is not working I would suspect the instrument cluster has problems.

Did you mark all the pulleys at the correct timing position prior to removing the head? You may have problems with the timing if you didn't.

Check to make sure all the electrical components for the management system have been reconnected correctly, pay particular attention to the Crank and Cam Sensors if fitted on your vehicle, if these sensors are incorrect you may not get a spark (if you have a petrol engine).. best of luck!!!

Took me ages to find it too! In a European model it's under the front bottom edge of the glovebox, right in the middle.

One thing that can be done is, give it for servicing. You can also ask the mechanic to check or clean the silencer. If the silencer has a some kinda dust in it or is choked, the car tends to loose the pick up! Apart from that once its given for servicing, the filter will get washed and cleaned.. and ask the mechanic to tone it up!

This will solve the problem I guess!

It helps to know make and model of any car as most have a weak spot or something that is the usual cause of a given problem. Turning over slow=bad connection, starter. Plugs, are you getting spark at the plugs? carb. or injected? Timing belt? Timing. If injected are they firing? Lots of things could be wrong, need to know what kind of car. But I posted this in the Daewoo Matiz section!! Anyway thanks for coming back. The car is a '00 Matiz with M100 engine, I've just finished doing the head gasket and new piston rings too. I have everything back now and expected it to start but its not firing at all. The plugs are almost new and the timing belt is new and double double checked at this stage. When I turn the engine over it turns on the starter as normal for 2 or 3 turns but then fades badly for a split second, comes back and does it over and over again. I've cleaned the points in the cap and the rotor arm too. If I disconnect the leads from the plugs the hesitating turnover problem goes away and it turns like you'd expect, just doesnt fire, plugs connected again and its doing this jekyll and hyde turnover thing again. I suspect the battery but have tried jumping and the engine only turned even faster but didnt start.

DO NOT REMOVE WHOLE MANIFOLD UNLESS YOU REALLY HAVE TO, IS IT LEAKING ABOVE THE ALTERNATOR? if so just needs a simple repair plate.

Fritz Zwicky was a prolific scientist and made important contributions in many areas of astronomy. He was a Swiss Astronomer and physicist. He got a PH.D Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and then moved to U.S in 1925 he stayed there until 1972. He was a Professor of Astronomy from 1942-1968, and worked at California Institute of Technology. He was also President of International Academy of Astronautics. He was the first person to discover evidence for dark matter in galaxies (1933). He Formulated triple-hypothesis: supernovae, neutron stars & cosmic rays (1934).

Dark matter was founded by a man named Fritz Zwicky he was born on Feb. 15, 1898 in Varna, Bulgaria. Fritz was an astronomer and a physicist he studied at Zurich under Peter Deybe and Auguste Piccard, he went to California Institute of Technology under the influence of Robert A. Millikan. There he became Caltech's first professor of astrophysics. He also came out with the term supernova, explaining this phenomenon as ordinary stars transitioning into neutron stars, which he correctly hypothesized as an origin of cosmic rays. Fritz predicted the existence of dark matter; he was also the first scientist to present that the whole galaxy clusters could act as gravitational lenses. On Fritz's spare time he personally witnessed 122 supernovas' more than half of them were known at the time of his death. In a scientific conference in 1933 they got three new ideas. First, massive starts end their life in a massive explosion which blow them apart. Second, the explosions produce cosmic rays. Lastly, they leave behind a collapsed star made of densely-packed neutrons. An explosion of a collapsed star would leave behind a ball of neutrons, which was formed by the crushing and colliding of protons and electrons; which he called a neutron star.

Fritz was the informal founder of and long time researcher at Aerojet Engineering Corporation which is now a subsidiary of GenCorp. Fritz also conducted research in crystals, gaseous ionization, the physics of solid state, slow electrons, and, thermodynamics. Fritz has been working and living in the U.S. for almost 50 years but never became a citizen. Later he died Feb. 8 1974 from heart failure.

Fritz is well known to many places and did many things; he received awards like the Royal Astronomical Society Gold Medal, Presidential Medal of Freedom, and International Space Hall of Fame. He also wrote many books: Morphological Astronomy in 1957, in 1962, Catalog of Galaxies and Cluster Galaxies in 1961, New Methods of Thought and Procedure in 1967, Discovery, Invention, Research Through the Morphological Approach in 1969, and, Catalogue of Selected Compact Galaxies and of Post-Eruptive Galaxies in 1971.

You must remove the lower engine mount bracket, this held by three bolts to the block. the engine mount bush must be disconnected.

If you do have ramps this can be done by jacking and placing fixed jacks under the car. remove the driver side front wheel, and the splash cover( it takes some twisting but the cover is flexible )

Even after these components ghave been removed it is still a tight squeeze so some manouvering of the alternator is required. It is is also adviseable to remove the harness connections prior to the removal of the alternator. I have doen this a couple of times and the hardest part is the engine bracket as one of the bolts is almost a blind assembly and will need patience and kids removed due to the nasty words that eminate. its LIKE a bicycle brake cable thatl u need to buy off a breakers or maybe dealer , its got like an S shape copper bit on either end of the wire its only a matter of hooking it threw the holes on the rails under the seat.... look at the other working seat cable and copy that (unless both are broke that should help!)
