On May, 18, 1980, the Kwangju Massacre took place in the city of Kwangju, South Korea.

At the time, the South Korean Government was in a state of flux. Seven months earlier, on October 26, 1979, president of 18 years Park Chung-hee had been assassinated. Less than two months later his successor, Choi Kyu Hah, was deposed by a military coup orchestrated by General Chun Doo Hwan, who took control of the government on December 12, 1979. Political unrest escalated throughout the country, and on May 17, 1980, Chun instituted martial law in South Korea.

On May, 18, 1980, during a confrontation between military troops and student demonstrators in Kwangju, the soldiers lost their objective discipline and started killing citizens indiscriminately, demonstrators or not. Events escalated, and citizens took up arms to defend themselves, but were ultimately crushed by the South Korean Army. Official casualties over the 10 day period of the Uprising are listed as being under 200, but there have been estimates of between 1000 to 2000 actual deaths.

Libya is going against the humanitarian rights. These rights basically mean that this is against what everyone believes and the Libyian leader is killing his own people. The United Nation has to take part and stop what is happening. Not only is the U.S involved but so is Europe.

The only reason that America is involved in Libya is simple because it wants to steal the libyan oil, which is among the best petroleum in the world because of its composition and richness. Ask yourselves, if America is such a goody goody country, then why doent it stay in places like Haiti, where much help is needed, places like Costa Rica, where all sorts of human rights have been committed and because locked up in cells forever and all with the consent of America...Ill tell you why, its simply because there is no oil there.

Most people suggest since he was at sea for more than a year he turned crazy. Like every crew, captain, or other explorer this isn't strange at all. Another theory is that he didn't have a good crew. His crew would always sleep and not work. Like a teacher is mean if his/her students misbehave. Since no one had a written record of why he was mean only that he was we will never actually know.
