There are two of them. One is under the hood and the other is under a panel on the left side of the dash. You access that one by opening the driver's side door and gently pulling the panel off. It's not realy fun trying to get back on, line it up first before trying to slap it back on.

Disconnect the battery, remove the cables and boot covers, and remove the old spark plugs. Next, properly dispose of the spark plug, put in the new spark plug, attach the boot cover and wires, and connect the battery.

The motor on the Mx-3 is an overhead cam engine. Due to the nature of the Mx-3 overhead cam engine, the lifters never need to be tightened. There are spacers in between the valves and the camshaft that do wear out, and will need to be replaced every now and then(many miles may be accumulated before this needs to be done however). Any Mazda dealership, or Mazda certified mechanic can do this, as it takes special tools/knowledge to do so.

The lifters are also hydraulic and automatically adjust. If they are colapsed try using marvel mystery oil.

its not easy. there are actually two separate belts in those engines..one for each side.. and they have overhead cam shafts. its best to get a repair manual for that. because its very difficult to explain without diagrams.

Have you tried shutting the engine off and putting tranny in Park instead of unhooking battery? My '93 occasionally locks into fail-safe/limp-in (2nd), sometimes slipping into neutral at highway speeds. Worse when hot, usually OK once weather gets below 40 deg F. Have had shift selonoids replaced -- no change. They're looking at wiring harness to tranny now, but no guarantees. Dash dies occasionally, too, but a slap in the middle usually brings it back. Letting is sit shut off will usually reset the tranny. Frustrating. Any better ideas anyone?

Remove the air intake off the throttle body. There will be a hex key bolt on the left side of the throttle body where the cables are connected. Remove this screw. just beneath that screw there is a hole most likely filled in with putty or wax. Clean it out with a pocket knife and obtain a set of metric Allen keys. I am not sure on the number I believe it is either 5 or 6 MM. Push firmly on the Allen key until seated and make small adjustments while the vehicle is running until you get it where you need it. When you remove the air intake off the throttle body you will need to keep it all together. While you are making adjustments you will need to place the plastic intake back on the throttle body to get a correct reading. The vehicle will idle rough and sputter until it starts pulling air through the idle air control valve and the mass air flow sensor. Keep in mind that small adjustments can raise or lower your RPM.s by the hundreds.

This has been answered in other post in this series, but its easy. Open the trunk and unscrew 3 black plastic wing nuts that hold the tail light assembly onto the car. You have to take all 3 nuts off, the light assembly will come loose, then just twist the correct light socket 14 turn off and change the bulb. 2 of the nuts are easily seen the 3rd one is up in the top corner.

1. First you should disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. 2. Drain the cooling system. 3. Remove the upper radiator crossmember and cooling fan assembly. 4. If you have a 2.7L engine remove the timing chain and chain guides. If you have a 3.2L or 3.5L remove the timing belt. CAUTION: Do not turn the crankshaft or camshafts while the timing chain or belt is removed or your engine timing will be off. 5. Remove the water pump bolts to remove the water pump. 6. Install the new O-ring in the grooves in the new pump. It's easier if you wet it first. 7. Install the new pump torquing the bolts to 105 in-lbs. 8. Reinstall timing chain or belt, cooling fan assembly, radiator crossmember and everything else you took apart. 9. Refill the cooling system. Some say you could reuse the old coolant if it looks like it is in good condition, but I say you might as well use new coolant unless you resently had a coolant flush.

You get the cam sensor from auto parts store and buy a can of PB blaster - you take out the bolt on the bracket and disconnect wiring harness. Then you spray some PB blaster on the sensor and what about 10 minutes. Start gently wiggling the sensor, slowly. There is an o-ring that makes it snap down in and if you pull too hard it will break apart (not good) - then you put the new one down in and put the bolt back in and reconnect the wires.

Most shops will charge $900.00 to a $1000.00, this is a lot of work. They basically have to tear apart the whole upper half of engine and replace all of the gaskets. Not to mention at that time it would be a good idea to do the valves, the gaskets would already come in the kit, so just the labor to change valve seats.

Cost? depends on manufacturer Ohms value depends on resistance winding of blower motor and can vary from a few ohms to around 1000. However, resistor normally has more than one segment and each segment should be roughly the same and on the low side. But basically, if theres a reading try somewhere else for the fault
