How many quarts of oil does a 2006 dodge charger hold?

depends on the engine size. 6 for the 5.7L and 7 for the 6.1L

What does Code p0016 is for on a 2004 intrepid with 2.7 L after water pump replacement?

P0016 - Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1 Sensor A)

symptoms
The engine may turn over but not start up
The engine may rattle near the harmonic balancer which means that the tone ring is damaged
The engine may start up and run, but run rough

cause
Timing chain is stretched, or timing belt skipped a tooth because its worn
Timing belt/chain not aligned
Tone ring on the crankshaft slipped or broken
Tone ring on the camshaft slipped or broken
Faulty crank sensor
Faulty cam sensor
Bad wiring to crank or cam sensor
Timing belt or chain tensioner faulty

The fix
Check the cam and crank sensors and their wiring for damage. If you see broken/frayed wires, repair.
If you have a scope, check the cam and crank patterns. If a pattern is missing, suspect a bad sensor or a slipping tone ring.
Remove the cam gear and crankshaft balancer and tone rings for proper alignment, make sure they're not loose or broken and they haven't sheared the alignment key. If they are correctly installed, replace the sensor. If the signal looks normal, then check the timing chain/belt for proper alignment. If it's not aligned, check for a damaged tensioner.
Also check that the belt or chain isn't stretched. replace and recheck.

How do I replace rack and pinion in Dodge Intrepid?

buy yourself a repair manual and just do what it says.

How do you replace the fuel filter on a 99 Dodge Intrepid?

Well no easy way to say this.... Fuel filter is in the tank and the fuel pump and filter is one unit!! Messed up I know but that's where it is. Drop the tank by removing the strap bolts, pump goes in through the top of the tank. Good luck! Starting price for a pump is around $200

How do you replace spark plugs in a 1996 intrepid 3.5L?

You have to remove the intake manifold to get at the rear 3 plugs. I take mine in to a small mechanical shop. Plugs are 100,000 mile ones so unless you are over 100000 and they haven't been changed or getting to 200000 I wouldn't worry about it. Be sure to have the plug wires changed with the plugs if you do chasnge them, though, it taked the same effort to change the wires underneath the manifold

How do you remove the crank pulley on a '96 Dodge Intrepid 3.5L to change the timing belt?

You'll need a puller you should be ablt to get a lon from on of you autoparts suppliers

without this you will not be able to remove it

Why when turn ac on Dodge Intrepid 97 models smells like gasoline?

You might have a fuel injector leak that causes the AC in your Dodge Intrepid to smell like gasoline. When the AC pulls air from the outside, it might be pulling some gas vapors in as well.

How do you change a fuel pump on a 2001 Dodge Intrepid and where is it located?

THE PUMP SHOULD BE IN YOUR TANK SO YOU WILL HAVE TO DROP IT, NOT THAT HARD BUT CAN BE FRUSTRATING! IF YOU DONT KNOW WHERE YOUR PRESSURE RELEASE IS BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN YOU START TO TAKE OFF THE FUEL LINES AS IT IS UNDERPRESSURE AND WILL SPRAY. SIPHON AS MUCH FUEL OUT AS POSSIABLE, THEN TAKE OUT THE 2 BOLTS HOLDING THE TANK UP, SHOULD BE ONE PER STRAP. LOWER A LITTLE THEN TAKE HOSE OFF OF YOUR TANK TO LOWER FURTHER, ALSO LOOK FOR YOUR ELECTRICAL CONNECTION AND POP THAT LOOSE, MAY BE GOOD IDEA TO UN HOOK YOUR BATTTERY ALSO, I NEVER DO BUT IT IS A GOOD IDEA. IF YOU DONT HAVE A LARGE PAIR OF CHANNEL LOCKS USE A FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER AND A HAMMER TO GENTLY LOOSEN THE LOCKING RING ON TOP OF YOUR TANK AND OUT COMES YOUR PUMP.

How do you know if your front shocks are gone on your 1995 Intrepid and how do you replace them?

It has Struts and not shocks. If the car is bouncing or floating whenever you hit a dip in the road, or seems to handle poorly, these are signs of worn struts. A leak in one of the struts is also a sign of a bad strut. Mileage is another factor. Struts today will last a long time, but if the car has over 100,000 miles, then more than likely the struts need replacing. As to replacing them, unless you have the proper tools and knowledge, take it to a pro. Serious injury can occur when replacing struts, if you don't know what you are doing.

Where is the crankshaft sensor in a 2000 Dodge Intrepid with a 2.7 engine?

Answer
It should be right in front of the engine on the drivers side, just past the timing belt cover. It will look like a plug with a little bracket holding it down from the side... Cam/crank sensor
The sensor on the fron of the engin is the cam sensor, the crank sensor is on the back passenger side of the motor right on the front of the transmission

Why is a 1997 Dodge Intrepid running hot after thermostat has been replaced and radiator is not clogged and no water flows through top hose?

coolant only flows through top hose when engine is at normal operating temp.. so u have the wrong thermostat, or no coolant in the rad....

Or the water pump has failed and is not pumping the water.

Why will a 2004 dodge Intrepid not start after driving a short while?

Have a 98 2.7 litre that would do that. Before doing anything else, replace ASD relay in engine compartment fuse block (diy $12). Would start fine cold, but often would not start after shutting off when engine was warm. Had to wait until engine compartement cooled off. Was getting fuel but no spark.

Where is the starter of a 2001 Dodge Caravan located?

The starter is located under the front drivers side of the motor next to the Transmission. It can be found by the motor mount.

What does the diagnostic trouble code P0016 mean in a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer?

This code is for a problem with the cam / crank correlation and the variable timing system. Several difernt things can cause this code. Anything from a bad sensor, solenoid, to internal engine problem.- Tech JK --------------------------------------

Where is the idle air control valve on a 2002 Dodge Intrepid?

The 2002 Dodge idle air control valve is located on the outside of the air cleaner housing. The idle air control valve can be found on the left-hand side of the housing.

Functions of valve timing?

1 Introduction

Recently, variable valve timing engines have attracted a

lot of attention because of their ability to control valve

events independent of crank shaft rotation, allowing for

reduced pumping loss (work required to draw air into

the cylinder under part-load operation), and increased

torque performance over a wider range than conventional

spark-ignition engine. Variable valve timing also

allows control of internal exhaust gas recirculation (by

control of the valve overlap), allowing for control of

NOx emissions produced during combustion.

Several detailed studies have been performed to show

the benefits of variable valve timing engines. [1] describes

a mechanical variable valve timing system, and

points to the possibility of controlling the air flow into

the engine via the valve openings, thus eliminating the

throttle and reducing pumping losses. In [2] and [3],

varying the intake valve timing was shown to reduce

pumping mean effective pressure while improving fuel

economy and NOx emissions. [4] describes an electrohydraulic

valvetrain based engine and provides a good

summary of the benefits of camless engines. [5] showed

that by optimizing valve events at part-load conditions,

volumetric efficiency, fuel economy, and NOx emissions

could be improved. More recently, in [6] it was shown

that using the flexibility of an electromechanical valvetrain

to run in 2, 3, and 4 valve modes, as well as

by using cylinder deactivation, fuel economy consumption

could be improved over a wide range of operating

conditions.

More recent attention has focused on the controloriented

modeling and the control of variable valve

timing engines. [7] modeled the cylinder-by-cylinder

breathing dynamics of a careless engine system, including

higher frequency runner dynamics using the forced

oscillator model. The model was then used to obtain a

cycle-averaged model between valve duration and lift

and mean-valued cylinder charge. In the companion

paper, [7], the cycle-averaged model was used with the

cylinder-by-cylinder model to develop and demonstrate

a control approach to estimate cylinder charge online

and use that information to update a feedforward map

between charge demand and valve lift and duration.

However, the model used in [7] and [8] did not include

modeling of the exhaust process and the effects of combustion

on cylinder pressure, and therefore the effects

of combustion on the breathing process and torque produced.

This paper attempts to to demonstrate a more

complete cylinder-by-cylinder model that includes the

exhaust valves, manifold, and breathing process, as

well as the in-cylinder combustion.

2 In-Cylinder Dyanmics

The in-cylinder dynamics consist of the 4 states of

cylinder pressure, temperature, mass, and burned gas

residual fraction, as described in [9]. The cylinder pressure

is obtained from the perfect gas law

Pc~Vcyt =rncytRTcyl (1)

Where Pcyt is the cylinder pressure, Vcul is the cylinder

volume, mcut is the cylinder mass, R is universal gas

Where does the vacuum hose for the power brake booster go?

You did not say what you were working on and that would help.

Now I do know that it has to go to a direct vacuum source like the base of a carburetor or the intake manifold vacuum port.
