How do you replace the water pump on a Dodge Stratus 2.4L?
Changing the water pump on the fromt wheel druve cars is hard since there is limited room. Get a manual on your car.
The 2.4 engine is similar to the 2.0 Neon motor. I did a water pump on one of those recently and it runs off of the timing belt. It wasn't a quick and easy job but doable if you have a puller for the crank pulley and patience. You will be working under the right front wheel well a lot. And like mentioned above - get a repair manual. You'll need to re-tension the timing belt.
Probably because the spring-loaded horn plunger is getting pinched causing it to find a ground within the steering wheel. You will need to loosen up the steering wheel and retrace your steps.I hope this helps you.

How do you change a Dodge Stratus windshield washer container?
take off front bumper and you will see the screws holding it in place
There are any number of answers to this question and I know because I have a 1998 Stratus and it is currently happening to me. It could be the fuel pump is not working properly. It could be the crank sensor. It could be insufficient pressure in the fuel delivery to the engine (like if theres a kink in the fuel line. It could be faulty ignition wires. It could be the catalytic converter. The manual says thet. With me it always happened when the car was low on gas and it feels like as your driving, the engine isnt't gettineg enough gas. When this happens to me, I note that if I put in a couple gallons of gas, it will start up after awhile. This led my mechanic to believe one or two other things: One, the gas guage is inaccurate and is telling me that there is enough gas in the tank when in fact there isn't. Two, He also suggested that the tube which runs from the tank to the engine is too high up in the tank. It's like the drain in a sink. The drain is flush with the bottom, so the sink drains completely. Think if the drain was one inch higher than the bottom of the sink. At that level, there would be water in the sink but not flowing through the drain. If that is the situation in the gas tank, the guage would say there is gas in the tank but the outflow tube is too high for it to drain out to the engine. Good luck. I wish there was a definitive answer, but there isn't.
[EDIT]: I had a very similar problem with my 2000 Dodge stratus. It would get so bad that the entire car would rumble while idling. In my case, it was a combination of misfiring spark plugs and corroded wiring to said spark plugs. My mechanic said it was "a hell of a job" after repairing it. If your mechanic uses a code reader, it should tell you whether or not this is your problem fairly quickly. He should see a bunch of "misfire" codes.
Where is the water pump located on a 2.7 liter v6 2004 dodge stratus?
It is inside the engine, driven by the timing chain.
Anyone know anything or anywhere to find an egr valve sensor for a 2002 Dodge Stratus RT with ABS?
An EGR valve sensor should be available at any dealership parts department, and almost any auto parts supply store.
Where is the o2 sensor bank 2 located on the dodge stratus 01?
Disconnect one of the 02 sensors and read the newly generated code. Then reconnect it and erase the code. Read codes again the new Bad 02 sensor code should disappear. Hence the code that followed your procedure will be for bank 1 or 2. You know which sensor you just disconnected and the new code has then identified what bank it resides in so then you will know which bank is which.
You can bet real money on that.
How do you time a 2000 dodge stratus with 2.4 motor?
2000 dodge stratus is electronicly timed you can not time it.
Can you put a turbo on a 2004 dodge stratus sxt?
The 2.4L I4 engine that is in the 00-05 Stratus is NOT a DMX motor. It's actually a Mitsu motor with the engine code 4G64. The V6 engine code should be 6G72 and is the same as the Eclipse GT motor. The I4 engine shares virtually NOTHING with the SRT-4 engine save displacement. The SRT motor is actually a Chrylser engine. My 04 SXT is turbo charged but NOT with an SRT-4 setup, it's a 01-05 Eclipse turbo kit. Look on tearstone.com and rippmods.com for turbo and supercharger setups respectively. Keep in mind this is NOT cheap. So the answer is yes and Good luck
How do you install front wheel bearing instructions for a 2004 dodge stratus sedan?
Oddly, I just tackled this one myself. It's pretty simple. The parts I purchased at Autozone and made by Timkin. The bearings and hubs are one assembly, so there's no need to pack the bearings or anything like that. It's literally a four bolt off, four bolt on job. You will need a speacial star-shaped bit to remove and replace one of the bolts. It can also be purchased at Autozone.
On to the job itself: Be sure to loosen all the parts. Next beat the end of the drive shaft out of the center of the hub with a hammer. It may take a little persuading. The bearing hub assembly will take a shot or two and it will fall right off. Put the new one on, use a little red lock-tight when re-assembling, and that's about it.
Should take a few hours with a buddy.
Best of luck.

Where is crankshaft position sensor located on 2003 dodge stratus?
Easy :) All you have to do is put your car up in the air, walk under it and you can see the connector just behind the front lower engine mount bracket. (driver's side)
I will be removing the mount and bracket, supporting the weight with a transmission jack, then removing the sensor.....
Hope that helps.
How do you program a 2004 dodge stratus keyless remote?
Open the glove box, reach in and remove this little book called an Owner's Manual. Inside this little book is all kinds of answers to this and many other questions. You will find it invaluable for future reference.
AnswerYou have to take it to a dealer, the service department has to program those. Answerthe guy with the first answer is trying to be funny. but hes not. u gotta go to the dealer and theyll take the serial number and program it there. its not a do-it-yourself type of thing. All these answers are wrong. It deals with a sequence of electrical input from the car such as placing the ignition in the on and off position several times. The exact sequence is different and with research on the net you can find it. Only in rare instances does the car need a special "adaptor" along with the sequence to program it. Good luck finding it.
AnswerThe only wrong answer is the one above. The manual does discuss programming additional remotes. However, if it is the only remote you have and you need it programmed then you must take it into a dealer\automotive electrician to program it. No ifs, buts or maybes. It is possible to do yourself with a small amount of technical skill. You must locate the data link connector under the driver's side of the dash. You must connect pins 1 and 4 with a small wire or jumper. This tells the system it is ready to be reprogrammed. Close all doors. Turn ignition switch to ACC. then back off. The door locks will lock/unlock as a signal the system is ready. Push any button on on each keyfob to be programmed. They must be pressed within 1 minute of each other. The doors will lock/unlock to signal the codes were recieved. Remove jumper wire and enjoy your remotes.
Why would a car start when cold but not start and cranks only after it's been driven awhile?
I'm not sure I understand the question but I do know this. If your car will start when it is cold, yet after driving it for awhile, you shut it off and then go to restart it and it wont start you need to have your starter and starter solenoid checked. Its happenened to me on 2 different cars. It seems that when the starter gets to hot it just jams up or freezes up and won't crank over the engine. Yet if the car sits for a little while it cools down and then seems to work just fine. Its defineately a sign that your starter and/or solenoid is about to die. Pull it out and have it checked.(auto zone will do it for free, its called a load test) There's a good chance that's your problem, if I understood the problem correctly. Good Luck, hope this helps.
