How do you repair an evaporative emission control system leak?
In many cases the fuel cap is at fault, or a cracked vapor/vacuum hose.
it would cause overheating but the smoke is probally coming from some sort of water or antifreeze in combustion chamber
Can blue and white smoke coming out of the exhaust be do to bad gas?
No, it cannot. Blue smoke is a sign of oil burning, and white smoke is a sign of coolant entering the combustion chamber. You more than likely have a blown head gasket cracked head or both.
White smoke from the exhaust is a sign of an internal coolant leak. Coolant is entering the combustion chamber. One cause is a blown head gasket. Stop driving this car immediately, and have this looked into or you could possibly ruin the engine.
What causes water condensation to come out of tailpipe?
When you start the car, the hot exhaust condenses on the interior of the cold exhaust system. This is normal for a few minutes until the exhaust system warms up. If the water smells and taste sweet, and you are continually adding coolant, you may have a blown head gasket. If this is the case, do not continue to drive the vehicle as serious damage will be done to the engine.

Why is lots of water coming out of tailpipe?
If water comes out after the car is totally warmed up, it has a blown head gasket. Most cars spit water on start up due to condensation in the exhaust after you shut the motor off and it sits and cools.
What are the main causes of holes in the exhaust?
Main causes of exhaust holes are created to acidic chemicals generated by the working diesel or gas engine on combustion of the air/fuel mixture such as sulphur dioxide &carbon monoxide, and water vapour. The latter condenses from steam back into water along the length of the exhaust tube. The acidic properties with water'eat' or oxidise on the steel exhaust eventually leading to pin hole rusting. One answer is to use stainless steel instead of ordinary steel which givesa longer life expectancy, although more expensive.
Why is your car smoking white smoke out the muffler?
As a grand master service technician I would have to say, given the question at face value, white smoke = coolant burning in combustion chamber. White smoke with blue tinge=oil burning in combustion chamber. Car running really bad with white smoke. defective ignition system(dead cylinder). Either way you will notice minor/major fluid loss from engine oil or coolant.
Since we always seem as mechanics to give the worst case scenario, the most probable and most common cause is steam from the combustion process from burning fuel. More common in the morning or on humid and cool days. If you can produce steam from your breath, chances are your vehicle will do the same thing. Which of coarse, is a normal operating characteristic of today's modern vehicles.
What is the valve inlet and exhaust settings V6 3.00?
Unfortunatly there is not enough information to answer this, I suggset getting a Chilton's manual for your vehicle, or going to your local library and looking it up in a Motor manual. You will need to know year, engine size and possibly series, though just having the VIN number can give you this with most books.
Several reasons come to mind:
1. the heater hoses are on the rt side & possibly could be leaking hitting something hot
& burning off. This would cause white smoke & scent of Anti/freeze
2. A leaking heater core dripping through the evap drain & hitting again something hot
will cause burn off & scent.
3. A leak in the cooling system anywhere will cause this problem.
I suggest a simple pressure test of the cooling system will pinpoint the leak....
Hope this helps,

What does P1456 Evap Emission Control Sys leak mean?
if you try to replace gas cap already, 99% would be your two way valve by the gas tank.
p1456 means you have a leak in your evaporative system which collects the evaporative gases from you fuel and reroutes them back into the intake. you will notice increased fuel usage and possible overheating problems. there is a possibility that it might only be the fuel cap, but it is also possible that it is a much greater problem, as in a hole in the wrong place...
This kind of misinformation is why you can't trust the internet for correct answers.
You would be hard pressed to make a reasonable case for a P1456 causing any kind of overheating. Somewhere your fuel tank is unable to hold the fumes inside without releasing them into the atmosphere, thus causing pollution. That should in no way cause increased fuel use or overheating. A test is available for that concern using nitrogen gas being pressurized in the fuel tank/vapor recovery system to pinpoint the leak so you are not just throwing money at it guessing.
Get a fault code by cycling key from 'off' to 'start' 3 times, leaving the key in the 'run' position. Any current fault codes will be displayed. On the 2000 Durango, faults are displayed in the odometer field, not sure about the 2003. Once you get your fault code, show them here, it will help us help you better.
What does white smoke mean when it is coming out of the exhaust of your 2000 Ford F-350 diesel?
white smoke from diesel exhaust generally means you have engine coolant leaking internally in engine
very rarely , white smoke can indicate a problem with the turbo
Black smoke when you accelerate?
Usually it caused by bad rings or valves. Too much fuel being delivered will also cause this. These conditions will eventually cause catalytic convertor problems later. black smoke is carbaration blue smoke is burning oil
How do you make the exhaust sound deeper without buying anything?
cut the muffler off is all i can think of but you could pick up a glasspack for about 20 bucks at the local parts house.
What is the best remedies for heavy white smoke after over haul on a kia Ceres engine?
White smoke is usually water in the combustion chamber. The best remedy is to take the engine back apart and find how water is getting into the cylinder and repairing it.
O2 sensor circuit malfunction, Bank 1 sensor 2.
Check the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
Oil is seeping past a worn valve guide(s)/components and pooling in the cylinder while the car sits. Once running, the seepage is too small to generate enough smoke to be visible. It's only when the engine is not running that it collects enough oil to burn, creating visible smoke. Alternatively, worn rings that expand when warm may be allowing oil past. This is generally not the case, in almost all cases I have seen it is from the valve train. Check with a mechanic to see how much replacing the guides will cost. Some engines do not need to have the head removed to perform this repair.
How do you fix the flex pipe on a 1992 Honda Prelude?
replace with a new pipe new gaskets and bolts must torch out old bolts from cat Take it to a muffler shop
