Why would you need to remove the gears unless they are broken? I hope you're not trying to take them off to replace the timing belt!

If you need to get them off, you need to keep in mind that they are pressed onto the cams... There are a few bolts, but you'll also need a pulley or gear removal tool. (Check your local auto superstore)

Be careful! Without the gears on, even though the cam is keyed to the gear, if you spin the cam, you could completely screw up the timing... I believe that Mazda engine in your contour is a zero-clearance engine, which means if you were 180 degrees off with one of your cams and started the engine, the valves would smash into the pistons and cause you a world of headaches.

being a technician, i have never located one! we hook a machine up to the upper radiator hose or you can disconnect the heater hose located under the car on the passenger side, but that's quite a mess.

well u have to take the lower radiator shield off, the drain can be taken out with a flat head screw driver the plug is right below the lower radiator hose

I a guessing that you have a V6 Contour. The P1519, means that the Intake Manifold Runner Control(IMRC) solenoid is not moving when commanded by the PCM. The PCM knows it is not moving, becaus there is a built-in position sensor inside of the IMRC. The job of the IMRC is to shorten or lengthen the air flow passages into the intake manifold at the right times for maximum performance, by opening and closing ports inside of the intake manifold. These passages are moved by a cable attached to the IMRC that moves butterfly valves on shafts that run through the center of the intake. You can see the cable which will be attached to a lever and a shaft by looking right below the throttle body assembly on the driver's side of the engine. Follow that cable, and you will find the IMRC. It may even be bolted to the top of the front valve cover. Cances are you need a new IMRC. But you should clean the air intake manifold with carb cleaner to free up the butterfly valves I described. Sometimes what makes those IMRC assemblies fail in the first place, is heavily carboned up intake runner valves that cuse undue stress on the IMRC.

You will need to buy the following items:

CD Player

Wire Harness Adapter (Scosche is the brand, can be bought for less than $10 at WalMart next to the CD players)

Radio removal tool (2 U-Shaped wire tools to remove radio - about $4.99 at WalMart, again next to the CD players)

Removal Steps:

Removal of the factory radio

1 Disconnect the negative battery cable (Black)

2 Insert the radio removal tools into the 2 vertical (up and down) holes on each side of the stock radio and push until you feel them engage in the holes

3 Pull the tools to the sides ( <----- ------> ) and pull straight back at the same time. The radio should be far enough out of the dash for you to pull it out all the way by hand.

4 Unplug the antenna cable (Thick, round, black cable) and rest it aside.

5 Unplug the other two connectors and set aside.

Wiring Steps:

Wiring the wire harness adapter

1 Each wire on the scosche adapter corresponds to a wire on the CD player harness. Each are color coded and the colors should match up with the colors on the CD player harness. Each wire should also have writing on it.

2 Connect all of the wires to the corresponding wires and either soldier the connections or use crimp on connectors (If either method is not available, twist the wires together and tape with electrical tape and place a zip tie over the connection.) Always cover the connections with plenty of electrical tape and place a zip tie over the connection.

The wiring is now ready for install

Install Steps

1 Insert the radio cable into the back of the CD player.

2 Insert the CD player harness into the back of the CD player.

3 Plug the scosche adapter into the connectors leading into the car.

4 Insert the CD player into the radio slot while being careful of the wiring.

5 Reconnect the negative battery cable (black)

6 Turn on the ignition and test all functions of the radio.

Jack Passenger side of car up. remove wheel well skirt. loosen pulley bolts on water pump before removing serpentine belt. loosen a/c compressor and slide forward about an inch. remove pulley from water pump. remove 4 bolts holding water pump in. remove water pump. reverse sequence to put new in.

just follow the upper radiator hose toward engine and remove the bolts

Assuming you have the automatic transmission, on the bottom left side of the "T"-handle of the shift lever is a button. When you press it, it will turn of the overdrive, and this causes the "O/D Off" light to come on. Press the button again and it wil turn on the overdrive, and the light should go off. If it doesn't, there is some sort of problem that will need to be traced down and fixed.

welcome to hell!!! its an easy fix, the quick cheap way is to replace the signal relay in the steering colum, a more expensive fix, and prob the one you will need to do is to replace the signal swtich intirely. I had it fixed (after triing to replace the relays) by the mechanic, and its been sweet blissfully silent since.

1st Buy the whole replacement from a dealership. When I tried to replace one of the bulbs in the 3rd brake light, I ended up breaking it in half trying to pull it out from the back window. It better to replace the whole unit. You will have all new bulbs and wont have to worry about replacing a bulb later. I tried to access the clip that hold it in place from the truck, but wast not able to. So I suggest rip it out gently from the back window. Disconnect the wire harness and then connect the new one and put back into place.

It's an electrical component that attaches to the bottom of the passenger compartment fuse box (left of brake pedal under dash). It controls things like interior lights, rear defrost, headlights-left-on buzzer, etc.

Either the battery has a dead cell and is pulling the others down after sitting for awhile or there is a drain on the battery from something that is on. Something such as a glove box, trunk, under hood, or dome light. If the battery is over 3 years old, or has been discharged many times, suspect the battery needs replacing.

I am having the same problem with mine. The research I have done points to the AC clutch on the compressor. The part is like $55 but I have to wait until pay day to fix mine.

Removing a door panel from a 1995 Ford Contour is very easy to do. You will need to take the speaker casing off by taking out the two screws. Then you will need to take the clips off that are holding the door panel in place. There will also be two retaining screws to be taken off the door panel with a Phillips screwdriver. After all the screws and clips are off, the door panel can be lifted off.

The low beams on a 98 Contour are the ones located on the far left and far right of the vehicle, all you have to do is grab ahold of the back of the light and turn, it may be a bit tight but they will come out. Watch which way you turn the bulb to get it out and pay close attention when you pull the bulb out to see which way to put it back in. Take out the bulb and when replacing with the new one DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB (I wear gloves) because the oil on your hands will cause the bulb to burn out faster and you will be replacing them again in a short amount of time.
