Where is the Voltage regulator on an 89 escort gt?

I have a 93 Escort GT that I am trying to locate charging issues with. I just replaced the alternator (which doesn't seem to be the problem). The regulator was located inside the alternator in mine. So it came new with the alternator (whole thing $130 + core). In some though, it is bolted to the outside of the alternator and costs about $70. Take the alternator to any parts store and they can test it to tell you if it and the regulator are working. Don't have them test it while it is on the car. Mine works off the car, but will not work when put on the car. I have some type of wiring issues.

What would be making a constant ringing like when the key is left in the ignition and the door is open as you drive your 99 Chevy Silverado?

Check to see if the turn signal is left on. Some chevvy vehicles (not positive about the Silverado)have a beeping noise that sounds much like the door open chime. Hope this helps. you should not be driving with the door open you could fall out or cause an accident

This is probably caused from the micro switch in the ignition switch other than replacing it just put the key back in then pull it out again

Where is the Orifice Tube on a 1999 Ford Escort?

It is on the left (drivers) side of the engine compartment near the headlight. It is in the line that runs from the condenser mounted on the radiator, to the evaporator in the passenger compartment. MAKE SURE THERE IS NO PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM BEFORE YOU WORK ON THIS PROJECT. There is a valve right next to the orafice tube so that you can ensure there is no pressure on the high side.

How do you fix a cooling fan on a 91 ford escort that wont stop?

If you have a 1993 ford escort lx wagon and timing belt broke while driving would there be any damage to motor?

It's possible. There are only 2 ways to find out: 1. disassemble the engine and inspect for damage. 2. Put a new timing belt on and see if you have good compression across all cylinders. If you do, you probably didn't cause damage when the timing belt broke. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Put on the timing belt. The car will run fine or really poorly. It will be obvious if you have any bent or stuck valves. Y-THINK-Y

Is it hard to fix a snapped throttle cable?

There is some variance in connections car to car, but they all do the same thing. At the carb. or throttle plate on the motor, the cable goes over a half round guide and the end slides into a round slot. Rotate the guide to full throttle and slide the end out of the slot. The cable goes through the firewall and should have a screw holding it in place. Inside on the gas pedal at the top will either be another end like the throttle end or may be a loop over a pin. May have a cotter pin or clip holding it. Remove and pull out through the firewall. To help get the new one in tie a string to the end of the old one and reattach it to the new one. Use the string to pull and guide the new one in. Reattach the ends and done.

How do you change a front wheel bearing on a 1997 Ford Escort Estate?

Although there is a snap ring retaining the bearing, you will need to take the strut to a mechanic and have the bearing pressed out. If you take out the three bolts on the top of the strut tower, and disconnect the ball joint at the bottom, you won't have to worry about throwing the alignment out.

1.9 transmission of a ford escort fit on a 1.8 dohc motor?

No, I looked into this myself. I have the 93 escort GT with a 1.8. Only another 1.8 escort and certain tracer transmissions will fit. The price does not come cheap between $800 (rebuild) and $1500 (new). I thought I was going to have to trash the whole car because of the transmission. If you are having trouble getting the car to go in first gear, and shifting up to 3rd gear while driving, or going in reverse, join the club. Buy a new transmission filter ($20) and some new transmission fluid ($10). The transmission pan comes off and the filter is right there. My car runs pretty good now, it should last me a few more years. I was amazed how this worked over buying a brand new transmission.
