There is a special timing chain tool kit that is used to set the engine cams at time with the crank. These tools are expensive and the task is a tedious process, but possible. The tool kit can be purchased by after market tool suppliers like OTC. Good Luck!

The 4x4 shift motor on your truck is likely bad. It is located on the back side of the transfer case. Any time the lights for your 4x4 don't come on, this is the most likely culprit. The dash mounted switch just tells the motor which of 3 positions it should be in (4x4 Auto, 4x4 High, 4x4 Low). There are contacts inside the motor which tell it which posotion it is in and whnere to stop for the different modes. If these contacts become dirty, it won't work properly. code P0735 is: Gear 5 Incorrect ratio ... This is a transmission code.... which is not affected by the 4x4...

Well, the cheap way would be to pull the fuse that controls that light, but most likely that will turn off other lights as well, and not fixed the problem in the first place. If you can get it, grab an OBD2 diagnostic unit and run it in your car and see if it gives you an error code you can research. Another handy thing to try is to make sure the parking brake is completely down while driving.

Here is your solution:

Purchase a Scosche harness kit #FDK2b, which supplies the rectangular connector for power, ground, etc.; a square connector for the 8-pin speaker/amp connections; and a double-ended AMP BY-PASS connector. You have to have this connector (also sold separately as fd07b) to properly by-pass the factory amp, which will redirect the speaker connections from the 8-pin speaker/amp connector direct to the factory speaker wiring in the doors.

I would recommend using these harnesses 1) if you are planning on re-installing the factory radio prior to selling the vehicle, or 2) if you do not want to take the time to re-wire for speakers.

Re-wiring for speakers is the BEST method; however, I have installed in these vehicles more than once, and it is very tedious and time-consuming work to properly route quality cables through under-carpet channels, door sills, factory cable routes, and door harnesses. Seriously, unless you are installing a kick-butt system with multiple amps, subs, and dozens of speakers, it is not worth the effort.

If you are simply replacing a defective head unit, or upgrading to a "better" head unit, use the harnesses I've listed above, and your installation will take about 30-minutes.

Pre-connect the rectangular and 8-pin harnesses to your replacement head unit's wiring, remove the factory head unit using Ford Radio removal tools (available at most auto parts stores, Wal-mart, online, and Scosche also has a universal radio removal kit), disconnect the two harness connectors and antenna connection, and install your new unit according to the manufacturer's instructions.

To by-pass the amp, locate the right-rear fender panel located in the cargo compartment on the right side of the vehicle). It is best to do this from inside the cargo area. Lift the carpet and locate and remove the two screws which secure the plastic fender panel to the floor, gently remove the panel by popping the plastic anchors (careful not to damage them) which secure the panel to the side of the body. Pull the panel back enough to reach the amp (there is no need to fully remove the panel), disconnect the two connections to the amp, and connect the jumper harness between the two connections you just removed. Re-assemble the interior panel and you're done!

The entire process should take 30-60 minutes.

their is a special socket made for o2 sensor removal and installation. their is a slit down one side so that the wire can come out. purchase that socket, raise vehicle safely, climb under, spray with penetrating catalyst, may need to heat up a little bit, unscrew old one, replace with new one, plug in, start the car.

You turn off the check engine light on any vehicle by finding out why it is on and fixing the problem. That light is on because one of the electrical leads going to the engine's computer is saying, "We have a problem." You can hook up the car to a computer and find out what the problem is. You can attach a light down below the dash and count the number of times it blinks and check a chart to get the number and then compare the number to a chart and find the problem. Or, you can cut the wire behind the dash.

When you have your headlights on low beam pull the headlight switch on your dash

There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.

First un hook your battery completely, and make sure your tank is nearly completely empty, makes the job easier. Drop the gas tank, take the high pressure fuel lines loose ( you need a special tool you can get at your local auto parts store) un hook all the wire from the sending unit there is a locking ring you will need to loosen with a hammer, and maybe a screw driver. then the sending unit will pop right out, un fortunately you have to replace the entire unit. $$$ This is a good time to clean up your tank and maybe coat it with under coating or spray paint it.

Trouble code PO402 is a generic (all car makes) code meaning "Exhaust Gas Recirculation- Excessive Detected". It means that the computer detected an abnormal or unexpectedly high rate of air flow in the exhaust gas recirculation emissions system.

If it is an intermittent sliding-door lock issue, you need to check door contacts on bottom right corner of door frame, and on the body. Clean and grease two small pin connectors(black oval hard plastic or rubber unit held on by two bolts)with an emory board, followed by a solvent like good old-fashioned lighter fluid. Unbolt the rubber assembly. I have found after a while, the contacts wear down, and you will probably need cut a cardboard spacer, and use it as a shim between the unit and the van body, to promote good electrical contact. Gray cardboard from a memo pad, or legal pad works nicely. After you install the shim, unit, and bolts, finish off with a little silicone on a cotton swab, around the perimiter to keep the moisture off the edge of the cardboard. Water seems to run off the roof and right past this area.

The wheel wells protrude into the door. That is why the bottom of the door is arched. There is no where for the window to go. it would hit the top of the wheel well.
