There is a toothed gear and a rack just behind the keyed switch. Perhaps the gear has jumped a tooth or two. If this has happened take it to someone that can replace both gear and rack. You may be able to "time" the rack and gear that's in there but if it has skipped once, it could happen again. The safe bet is to replace them.

remove the attaching nuts, and with a ball joint removal tool, remove old link. Then install new link, and torque new nuts to specs.

cooling fan relay has gone bad or coolant temp sending unit is bad

The constant power wire for the radio in a 1990 Ford Thunderbird should be green/yellow. The ground wire for this vehicle's stereo system should be black/light green.

i believe the merc cougar (v-6 i assume) was a 3.8L and the v-8 was a 4.6L (that is what i have) on mine it is located behind the left tail light... from the top all u can see is a small white fitting with black vaccuum hoses on each side but from the bottom ( and the only way you can reach it) its a round solinoid with a 2 wire harness comming from it and it is about the diamater of a silver dollar.

There's an assembly attached to the top portion of your dashboard. It contains a clock, some levers and below the clock, three red lenses for lights (Door Ajar, Low Fuel, Flasher). Next to the clock is the switch for the flashers. Turn on the flashers and the light should come on.

2.3 turbo, V6 & V8 ARE THE SAME. wire #29 is Y/W YELLOW/WHITE FROM THE SENDING UNIT TO (CONNECTOR C440) TO (CONNECTOR C285) ON THE INSTURMENT CLUSTER THIS WIRE GOES FROM THE SENDING UNIT TO THE INSTURMENT CLUSTER THEN ON TO THE LOW FUEL WARNING MODULE READING FROM SENDING UNIT SHOULD BE EMPTY 60 to 66 OHMS FULL 8 to 12 OHMS IF YOUR FUEL GAUGE IS OFF THEN I WOULD CHANGE THE GAUGE GOTO E-BAY AND BUY THE "ELECTRICAL MANUAL" the wire from the fuel pump relay to the pump is #787 PK/BK PINK/BLACK

Look for switch either at top of brake pedal under dash area or at master cylinder

Look in your owners manual, if you have one. If not call your local ford dealer they can look it up for you. Or i can tell you it holds 18 Gallons

We have a 1995 Thunderbird LX and the tank capacity is 18 gallons

The three most common reasons why you might get "engine knock" could be: 1) You need a higher octane gasoline for your older engine. 2) Your carburetor might be running a little too lean. 3) You might be experiencing pre-ignition in your cylinders (which can be caused by a variety of reasons).

Any one of these existing conditions could possibly not show up the symptoms until the engine gets up to operating temperature.

you cannot fix the timing on your tbird as it is electronically controlled and does not have a distrubutor. have your camshaft or crankshaft sensors checked
