Can you start a fire with toothpaste?
Yes, you can.
You need something metallic and shiny which is an inverted dome, like the bottom of a drink can.
Smear toothpaste on the bottom of the can, then position it at the sun, so the sun's rays are reflecting off the bottom, heating up the toothpaste and eventually starting a small fire.

Are forest fires considered deforestation?
Forest fires can contribute to deforestation if they burn down large areas of trees and vegetation, leading to the removal of forest cover. However, not all forest fires result in deforestation, as some forests are able to regenerate after a fire. Deforestation, on the other hand, refers to the long-term and deliberate clearing of forests for agriculture, urban development, or logging, which permanently removes the forest ecosystem.
What does a firefighter do when there's no fire?
If you mean "false alarm", there could be an investigation about who called in the fire.
If you mean times between emergency calls at the fire station, there are many other parts of being a firefighter. Bottom line, they spend time making sure they and the equipment are ready for anything, then help with fire prevention and other administrative tasks.
In addition, firefighters are often called to other emergencies that do not necessarily involve "fires", such as assisting medical responders, attending industrial accidents, motor vehicle accidents, and various other types of rescues. They have to be trained, equipped and ready for those as well as fires.

Do forest fires affect the o zone layer?
Forest fires can release large amounts of greenhouse gases and aerosols into the atmosphere, which can contribute to climate change. However, the direct impact of forest fires on the ozone layer is minimal compared to other factors like industrial pollutants and chemical reactions involving human-made chemicals like CFCs.

Why sea water cannot be used to extinguish mountain fires?
Sea water CAN be used to extinguish mountain fires but it isn't necessarily the best choice because it is salty enough to make it harder for plants to recover after the fire and because it may not be the closest source of large quantities of water. Also - scooping up water from the ocean with all the waves is more difficult than from a flatter body of water such as a lake.
*****
To add my bit: The water would do its job and help put out the fires. The downside is that the salt contents would affect the area and could inhibit future regeneration in the short term. It should be remembered that forest fires would happen naturally. It is only in death and the destroying of property that affects mankind. - nature will always recover. Sometimes humans believe that nature depends on them. Nature would get along quite happily without mankind.

When did the coconut grove nightclub fire happen?
November 28, 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts. The first alarm came in at 10:20 pm, a few minutes after firefighters had responded to a car-fire around the corner. The first "three alarms" were sounded within minutes and the "fourth alarm" at 10:24. It went to five alarms at 11:02 pm. Most of the victims were killed within the first four minutes, much like those at the fire at The Station nightclub in 2003.

The Cocoanut Grove fire remains the second-deadliest single building fire in US history with a death toll of 491 or 492 depending on the source. (The Iroquois Theater fire in Chicago in 1903 claimed 602 victims.) The "Grove," as it is often called, was a series of small cocktail lounges and dining rooms tacked on to a renovated garage in downtown Boston. There were at least 9 exits, only two of which were not sealed off in some fashion. It was Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, and the popular club was overflowing with approximately 1000 customers, nearly double its occupancy rate.
The interior of the building belied its mundane origins. Pictures taken before the fire show that the Coconut Grove truly was a beautiful recreation of a moonlit, tropical paradise with palm trees, blue skies and even a retractable roof for dancing under the stars. Although the club had passed a fire safety test the week before, it was actually in violation of numerous safety codes. Many materials in the interior were highly flammable, including papier-mâché decorations, sateen ceilings and leatherette walls. Nonetheless many of the victims died from smoke inhalation rather than burns. Some were trampled to death as they groped towards the main exit, a revolving door which quickly jammed, and behind which nearly 100 patrons died.
For many years it was believed the fire was touched off inadvertently in a dimly-lit downstairs lounge by a busboy who lit a match to replace a light bulb. This explanation never satisfied many fire safety experts, scientists and fire marshals. Nearly 50 years after the fire, it was determined that the Grove's ventilation system was the source of the blaze. In 1942, many chemicals were appropriated for the war effort, including Freon, which was often used as a coolant in air conditioning systems. The Grove was instead cooled with methyl chloride, a highly volatile compound with a low flash point. A spark or open flame such as from a cigarette lighter or match is sufficient to touch off methyl chloride.
This theory is now the accepted explanation as to why the fire grew so rapidly and so quickly out of control; why it raced around the ceilings rather than engulfing the walls, and why it burned itself out within minutes. The fire also exhausted its oxygen supply in short order because the club was windowless with many small rooms that had only one door in or out.
How do human activities cause a forest fire?
Lightning, volcanic eruptions, sparks from rockfalls, spontaneous combustion,
underground coal fires and even just throwing a lighted cigarette can ignite wildfires. In areas where there are many dried up leaves and trees, throwing a lighted cigarettes might just cause these to burn out of control. Many are started by arson, such as slash-and-burn, which is considered the least expensive way to clear land for future use such as farming crops. Flammable grasses caused by overlogging also contribute to the ease of igniting wildfires. Lightning, volcanic eruptions and such, which produces heat and even light, can cause the forests to catch fire and spread all over.
What two spheres interact when lightning strikes a forest?
The sphere of electricity, and the sphere of trees.
What are the common causes of fire and what you can do to prevent them?
Some of the common causes of fire are Electrical sparks, Gas, Oily rags, lightning, Horse play, Cigarettes, Acids, friction and cooking.
In order to prevent these causes of fire it is important to maintain all machines and equipment with regular checks, House keeping and general cleanliness is important to remove combustible materials from building up and it important to define areas for work and rest and to make sure that all fir prevention equipment is installed and operational.

Negligence is one factor to consider and astute general awareness can over come this in most cases.
Arson is high on the list of fires in industry, it is good practice to have good border control and reporting facilities to help identify suspicious activity.
Electrical failure can be a problem to solve entirely, however regular PAT testing and general understanding regarding the overloading of circuits can reduce potential.
Why is it useful to cut down trees to form fire breaks?
Cutting down trees to form fire breaks is useful because it helps reduce the spread of wildfires by creating a barrier that can stop or slow down the fire's progress. This can protect nearby structures and vegetation from being engulfed in flames, helping to prevent widespread destruction.
