HI, I have to guess by your question that you want to know what to use to adjust your timing. After you set up your car to check and adjust your timing if you need to, you need only loosen the two screws/bolts on the distributor flange so the top of the distributor is just barely loose and you can either advance or retard your ignition spark to the specified mark on the front of the engine at the pulley. Hi, There are two fuse boxes in the '97 Tracker. One fuse box is under the hood in front of the battery, you can't miss it as it has the fuse markings on the top. he second fuse box is under the dash on the left kick panel, it also is marked and is a rectangular bos sitting the long way of the rectangle up. You should take a flashlight with you as it really is a bit difficult to see the box and it's insides without a light. The locations and sizes of each fuse is stamped on the inside of the cover, you just remove it and you'll see what's in there. There should be a fuse puller and some spare fuses on the inside of the cover. If the items are not there you need to grab a fuse that you suspect of being bad with a pair of needle nose pliers and pull carefully. To replace a fuse, just put the correct size in and push to firmly seat the fuse. If you have never taken a fuse out before you'll know if it's bad because the wire inside wil look burned and/or broken. Good luck and sorry it took me a while to get back. Steve H.

My 2003 Geo Tracker also starts and runs great but shuts the fuel off when it gets hot while idling for about 10 minutes, for instance in heavy traffic, at stop lights, etc. My mechanics couldn't fix it, so I removed the thermostat so at least I could drive it until we found the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated.

No. The Prism motor is a Toyota motor and side mounted. The Tracker motor(suzuki) is mounted with the engine from front to back, so it will not work without a lot(I mean a lot) of work to do it.

I'm not an expert but my 91 Tracker will take Ford 5 hole wheels. As far as I know its the same until Chev bought Geo. I know that wheels off a 89 International Scout fit and look great on a lifted 94' Tracker.

where is the trany drain plug on a 1994 ttracker

before you begin know this requires intermediate skill. remove the door glass first, if you cannot do this much take it to a shop. if you look closely, you will see that the wire regulator in the door works both ways, also the wire sheath retaining clips must stay on as you do this ; I recommend duct tape. even if the regulator is not bolted in, what is most important is keeping the wire in position and in the sheaths in place , inspection of the wire spool indicates that you must first put in one wire (I forgot witch), roll up the spool, and then insert the other wire in the small slot. the wire ends will be different so look at the slots first and study the other door for reference. if you get this mess back together the spool should unroll one wire whilst spooling up the other one. then you can bolt the regulator on, use the handle and see the glass bracket move up and down. glass, trim, panel and you are done. if the wire guides on the spool are busted you will need another one, 60$ used i bet ...... good luck young jedi.

It is for towing. You know how you have to step on the brake to move it out of park? Pull that little button and you can move the shift lever.

On the 95 tracker, there is a latch attached on a pull cord located in the rear middle of the seat. Pull it firmly toward you, lift the seat and viola!, seat is able to fold up. Secure it with the steel rod into the hook and you are done. Hi, If this a two door you have, you pull the handle on the bottom rear of the seat. If the handle is not there, then you need to have something long with a hook to reach under the seat and search for the latch hook, it will be in the middle towards the front and you need to be able to pull the latch hook so it releases from the latch rod. If you think of the latch hook as looking like a birds beak with a hook at the end towards the ground and it's hooked on a stick, you'll see to pull from the top and pull it backwards, it should release the seat. If this isn't what you're loking for perhaps you could give us a different description of what you need. Hope this helps and good luck. Steve H.

Yes, they made plastic hard shells. But they are hard to find. You also should ask yourself, do I want to invest any more money into this piece of junk? Two piece top, usually in bright colors, like hot pink and neon green. Had one way back in 1990, when they weren't total garbage. The tops were not fiberglass, and didn't make the ride any more quite.

The 1997 Geo Tracker uses Beck Arnley 252-1501C Blue 50/50 Premix coolant. The Geo Tracker has a coolant capacity of 5.5 quarts.

there's a switch mounted just inside the left speaker. remove speaker cover and speaker,and just to the right there's a tiny switch. slide switch to the opsite side. start car and see if the light went off,if noithing is wrong it should be. if that doesnt work take battery cable off and leave of for about 15 mins, this will reset the entire computer ,put cxable back on and start car, hope this helps

Hi, The first part to ask you is yours a 4wd or 2wd? If it is just a 2wd, then all you have to do is remove all your bolt then nudge it loose, don't pry it with a tool as it can be damaged. By the way, I'll take it for granted that you know to drain all your oil firsr? Make sure you have your new gasaket and gasket goop and clean all the surfaces well before you reassemble. All of the info is the same for a 4wd, if your '03 is anything like my '97, you need to disengage the front drive shaft at the universal and when you remove or drop it out of the way, then you'l be able to remove the oil pan. My gasket had to be replaced last year and that's what I had to do. You might want to check the condition of the universal while you have it off and see if it also needs to be replaced, Gofd luck with it. Steve H.

Hi, You shouldbe able to remove the screws that hold the taillight assembly in place and remove the light assembly. You might ned to use a small bit of force if they haven't been removed in a while, just do it gently enough not to damage anything. The bulbs are able to be removed when you have the assy removed. To remove a bulb you turn them so the tabs on the bulb line up with the slots and remove the bulb. I found that when I removed my bulbs that the insde was incredebly dirty so I removed them all and washed the assy out and after it had dried replaced the bulbs. I also was able to find brighter bulbs. God luck and happy fixing. Steve H.

Check the turn signal fluid with the engine idiling on level ground and the radio turned up all the way.

If the engine in question is the carbureted engine, then the fuel puymp is located on the cylinder head, according to my Chilto's book. The joib doesn't look too hard to do, remove thew neg batt cable, remove the fuel cap ( to relieve back pressure ) , tag and remove the hoses then remove the fuel pump and old gasket. If you need to see if the pump is operating, have someone with you and when you have the pump off, have your helper crank the engine and see if fuel is coming from the pump, if is is, then look elsewhere. If fuel isn't coming out of the pump then a replacement is in order.
