First you need to get the right tools for the job and the right parts to fix the problem.There is a hinge pin in both the upper and lower hinges and four brass bushings and there is two different size bushings in each hinge and also two hinge pin retaining washers.as for the tools you need a spring compressor,jack,hammer,punch. First open the door all the way,put jack under door,I like to use a 2by4 board on top of the jack to help spread the weight of the door out a little,next if the door has a wireing harness in the jamp loosen the rubber insulation form both the door and the body this gives a couble of inches of slack in the wireing.Next use the spring compressor to remove the spring,then use the punch and hammer to drive out the pins.it is very hard to get them to move an first but gets easyer as they start to move.I would recomend having a helper to hold the door upright as it will fall when the pin is removed from the hinge.Onece the pins are out move the door and jack away from the body to gain more axcess room the replace the bushings,two in the door side and two in the body side,then slide door and jack back and align hinge holes and install new pins. I allways grease the bushing and pins before installing.Drive the new pins all the way flush with the hinge and install the retainers.Reinstall the spring and reattach the wireing insulation.

My guess it you have a 4.3 motor. These were common for a poppit valve problem and replacement of the Fuel injector system (for lack of the real name). I usually refer to it as the octopus because of its shape. A pricey little animal. Should get it diagnosed to verify by a shop that knows their dirt.
How do you clean a 4.3 TBI Injector?
I assume you are talking about assuring the cleaning of the pintle valve from fuel deposits and carbon. You're in luck because this is easy. Not cheap, but easy. Buy a can of BG 44K injector cleaner. This is the expensive part! (around $24-$34 per can). Now for the easy part. Pour it in your gas tank and fill your tank. Drive the vehicle around until the tank is half full. Top off the tank again and continue to drive normally. You're done! Probably not a bad idea to do this twice a year, certainly once per year.
I have personally used this product recently and I've found that it is the only cleaner that does what it claims to do. My '98 Jimmy (4.3L) was getting around 15.3 MPG. After doing what I outlined above, the mileage has improved to 17.4! I'll let you do the math, but the return on the investment occurs very quickly.

Within one or two days the vacuum in the gas tank will build up and reset the code. The not so cheap answer is take it to a dealer with a blank check, he'll tighten your gas cap and charge you $150. Or you can buy an OBDII Code reader or better yet a decoder that hooks to your car's computer and reads out your engine diagnostics real time. OBDII stands for OnBoard Diagnostics level 2 and replaced the older OBD1 around 1996. It tracks hundreds of items such as ignition timing, fuel trim and pressure, the number of times your Oxygen Sensor transitions from rich to lean(I got that one)and a list longer than your arm, including loose gas caps. It's a phenominal system which can even tell the police how fast you were going and if you applied the breaks before you plowed through the front window of that car dealership you love so well. The real problem with this system is that there is no way for it to tell you whats on its mind without an expensive interface that the dealer has. Until now that is. Take a look at http://www.scantool.net/, they sell a low cost OBDII decoder which will read the codes, reset the MIL(Check Engine Soon) Light, and give you data to help you determine what's wrong (loose gas cap?). It runs on an older PC or Laptop which allows you to get on the fly readings(you read, someone else drives). It's well worth the $100, get together with your family and friends everybody chip in 20 bucks and an old laptop(386 is OK)and your the hit of the neighborhood. Only trouble is that each scantool does only one type of OBDII output. Ford, GM, and Chrysler/foreign cars are all different. There are other decoders that handle all three systems but their more expensive. Do the cost/benifit analysis to see if you want a single or universal system and how much the share will be. A few years ago I paid over $900 to have a mechanic tell me "Welp, I just don't know". I got mad, went on the internet and found the information on the Central Port Injector problems that Jimmy's had and fixed it myself in a couple days. I have the same problem with my 98 jimmy. Apparently there is a problem with the poppet valve in the fuel injectors. there's a tsb out, and actually a recall in california. the solution is to COMPLETLY redo the injector system about 1200$ is the estimate I received. however, i located which cylinder was misfiring and replaced the fuel injector (70$) seemed to fix it.

When the Engine light started coming on last year in my 98 Jimmy I checked the manual and it says the gas cap is not on properly. I took it off and put it back on and after driving for a minute the light went out. So far this has happened to me 3 times. Well worth checking that before starting any work on it.

A misfire that jumps cylinders could indicate a lean condition, do you have any other codes along with the 300? this will help clue you in to the source, check valve function to make sure they are opening and closing fully.
This is probably pone of the most difficult codes to troubleshoot, so start with the basics and work your way into the more expensive options, in many cases a good old tune up solves the problem, back it up with a fuel system cleaning and see where you stand.
