On your 1996 GMC Sierra your brake lights don't work but your turn signals work why?
Although both signal lights and stop lights are within the same lens, they operate on different wiring. The bulb will usually have two filaments, one for stop and one for signal. If the brake lights are not working, the problem is probably a blown fuse or a faulty break light switch.
Why is the check engine light on on a 2006 gmc sierra?
The check engine light (service engine soon) comes on and stays on when a problem is detected by the self diagnosis system of your vehicle. Generally, the problem is in the emissions or something that is affecting the effectiveness of the emissions, but other causes can trigger the light to come on, too. To determine the cause, the vehicle will need to be taken to a parts store or a shop that has an OBD2 scanner, or for 1995 and earlier models, an OBD1 scanner, While a scanner will not give you the magic answer, it will give you a code that narrows down the problem area.

1992 Chevy 350, you need to unplug the brown wire under the black cover on the pass side firewall. Then make sure its timed on 0 measured at the front of the damper. If it does not run right take off the dist cap and with a socket and long breaker bar have someone watch the dist rotor as you turn the engine reverse rotation, what you are looking for is a slack in the timing chain. If their is significant slop, then retime engine 2 degrees advanced til it is running good again. When you are done reconnect the brown wire and put the plastic cover back on. Done.

Just buy a set of custom plug wires designed to fit perfectly. Lay the new wires out and sort by length. Now remove just one old plug wire. Caution: "Remove, and replace them, one at a time, so you will not get them confused or mixed up." Place a very small amount of dielectric grease inside the boot of the plug wire and insert it over the spark plug until it snaps in place. Do the same at the distributor or coil pack if so equipped. Make sure to route the new wires exactly the same as the old ones. Take your time and use care handling the wires. Good Luck.

How do you replace the bulb in the daytime running lights on a 2005 silverado pickup?
open your hood and look at the space directly above the headlight assembly. you will see an L-shaped metal rod about 1/4" in diameter and a couple of 5" long. look at how that rod is latched down and unlatch it. slide it out to one side (it can only slide out one way). this will unhinge the top headlite housing. tilt that housing out of the way. you will now be able to see the back side of the daytime running lite housing.
grab the back of the bulb where the wires connect and unscrew the whole assembly-bulb and wire connection. swap out the bulb with a new one and reinstall--everything in reverse of above.
In order to check the that the daytime running lights are working, make sure the parking brake is set first and then shift into "Neutral". The daytime running lights will not come on when the vehicle shifted to "Park".

Where can I get a wiring diagram for a 93 GMC Sierra 4l60e transmission?
Hayes and chilton make manuals for all kinds of vehicles, that would be where i would check. They're usually available at your local auto parts store and if they dont happen to have the one you need they can probably order it. I would check with all auto parts stores in your area to see if there is one you can check if that schematic is in there before buying though.
you may also be able to register at autozone.com and find the wiring diagram in their "free vehicle repair guides"
