There really is no average when it comes to computer costs. Computer prices range very widely. You could pay $150, or you could pay $10,000 for a computer.

For a sort of mid to high end (closer to mid, though) gaming computer would probably be anywhere from $700 to $1000. For a high end, I would say probably $1500+

For just surfing the web, checking email, and playing a few games on lower graphics setting, you could throw together a computer for $300-$500, probably even less.

Actually there is more to it than that. This does not take into account the cost of making a shaft which is most often handled by a third part general contractor or someone who can pull framing permits. In new construction, the cost is negligble. Framing is Framing. In a renovation, the cost can be considerably more for cutting floors, closing a shaft, supplying normal swing doors, and moving any HVAC or other items that could be in the floors or walls. If you are lucky enough to have stacking closets, the building costs can be rather low. I have often seen the cost more expensive than an elevator.

Really rough ballparks (depending on types of equipment and where you are in the world) could go somewhere in the low to mid 20s (thousands) for the equipment and installation. Then you need to address build out costs. There is a lot of price competition going on between manufacturers right now, so 2010 is probably a good year to get things going.

A phone is full duplex, both can speak and listen at the same time. A CB-radio is half duplex, ony one can speak at a time.

CAN is half-duplex. One differential pair means one message at a time.

Same as duplex radio comms, where there are several stations on the network at the same time, except telegraphy usually refers to landline communications. ie: several telegraphic operators transmitting to each other, on the same frequency, at the same real-time.

This can be caused by a number of things. Here are some of the most common culprits.

Environmental. Have you recently added a space heater, air conditioner, refrigerator, or other heavy-drawing appliances to the same electrical circuit? The system may not be getting enough power, modern systems often have up to 600 watt power supplies, they can be very hungry beasts. To find out if this is your problem, you can try experimenting with plugging your machine into a different household circuit via an extension cord.

Over-taxed. Have you recently added more hardware to the computer? Adding a second hard disk or optical drive, upgrading the video card, or even using some of the power hungrier USB devices can over-tax the power supply of the system and the motherboard will power itself off if it isn't getting the voltages it wants. Additionally, if this is an older system the power supply may just be giving up the ghost, and just hasn't died all the way yet.

CPU overheating. If the CPU heat sink has become un-seated from the CPU it takes about 5 or 10 seconds for the CPU to heat up enough to shut down the system. Double check that the CPU heat sink is firmly attached & that none of the brackets has come loose.

My pet theory (and to be honest im only guessing here) is that one of your fans is having problems.

Most modern motherboards have the ability to monitor the speed of the cooling fans. These systems are often set by default to refuse to stay powered on (they'll shut off after a few seconds) if they detect that one of the fans is not spinning.

Most likely one of the fans in your computer has gotten stuck. Open up the machine and clean them.

Also, if one of these fans comes unplugged, the motherboard will get a 0 RPM reading & will shut itself off. If you've been monkeying around in there, or the machine was just recently assembled, make sure everything got plugged in right.

If you just built the system. It may have hookups for case fans. These hookups may be by default configured to shut the machine down if they dont detect a spinning fan. You may or may not be actually using these hookups for your case fans (you might not even have case fans) and so you would need to go into the BIOS menu and disable case fan monitoring.

Half duplex means it communicates in one direction only. It either listens all the time, or it talks all the time. A half duplex satellite would be pretty useless. In reference to services like DirectTV, the user sees the satellite as half duplex, but for the satellite owner, it is full duplex communication to their ground station.

One can normally sell a house as soon as they want after the Order of No Asset is issued by the Court, but most people wait until after the Discharge is entered and the case is closed to be safe.
