What are the instructions for replacing a starter in a 1992 Isuzu Trooper?
Remove the positive battery cable first. The starter is on the passenger side of the engine. Might be easier to get to from below. Remove the bolts holding the wiring to it than the bolts that mount the starter in place. Be careful if it has shims that you make sure you put them back in the same way. (These are little thin spacers that go between the mounting surface and the starter). Installation is reverse. Probably would take you no more than 30 minutes to do it all.
Got a code P0401 Isuzu Rodeo what is the cause?
Trouble code P0401 means:Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected
What do these diagnostic codes mean on a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo P0304 and P0463?
P0463 is a standard OBDII code for "Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Voltage High" On a Rodeo, this typically means your gas gauge is broken (or in process of breaking) see the following forum for more info http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?t=6920&highlight=fuel+sender http://forum.planetisuzoo.com/viewtopic.php?t=579&highlight=bigpoppax2 P0304 is standard OBDII for "Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected" This is likely a separate issue. I believe I had a similar code after replacing the spark plugs. Replacing the new Bosches with Densos fixed the problem. The computer is tuned for Densos and NKGs and frowns upon most others.
You checked all the fuses right? Anyway, it sounds like you burned out the fusable link. That's the fuse wire in between your battery and your fuse box. Check your fuse box with the key on to see if you've still got power. No power=burned out fusable link.
I'm having a similar problem. I've been checking around I can't find the link but its one of the constant hot circuits. It powers the dome lights, the radio constant hot, and the ECM constant hot. I'm still working on finding the problem on mine, but I took a wire and connected it to the dome light positive feed and did manage to get mine to start again. I'm having problems finding a wire diagram that shows me these circuits properly. Do all of your other lights work? And when you turn your key on does the indicator lights come on? I was working on the back of my truck and touched the rear dome light to the body and shorted it out. Once I can get a diagram I can find the problem by finding where these are commonly connected and check for the problem.
turn your inlet tap on fully and then return back to 1/4 on
How do you repair your blinkers on your 1991 rodeo Isuzu?
If the blinkers have altogether quit it may be the your turn signal flasher is bad. There are two flashers; one for the 4 ways and the other for your turn signals. Usually you will find the turn signal flasher near the steering column under the dash. They are usually hard to get to. Also if one side still works then turn that side on to follow the clicking sound to lead you to the flasher. JCPC83's Answer, I will disagree with both of those. I have a 91, it has only ONE flasher unit. I bought mine from my uncle, the turn signals didn't work but the hazards did. You will have to take the steering colum apart and clean the contacts in the colum. I know it sounds difficult but it took me about thirty minutes to do. After I had fixed it my uncle told me that they hadn't worked for over a year but never told me about it. If you wish to check the flasher it will take longer to do, its located behind the speaker on the dash, you will have to pull the speaker out and look against the fender. You can also pull the kick panel and the ecm and reach up under the dash. I put LED lights all around mine and had to put in an electric flasher, the thermo flasher didn't like the lack of load, even after I modified the front side markers beside the headlights to work as turn signals.

How do you change a stop light bulb on a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo?
First, make sure you get a DUAL filament bulb, if you get a mono filament it will not work properly.
Open the tailgate, un screw the screws on each side of the tail light assembly. This is in one big unit. Then carefully take the stop light bulb out, you may have to pull a bit, they get really stuck in there. change the bulb with the dual filament. Carefully replace the whole assembly. Be sure that you the climate seal is on straight then replace the screws.
How do you put transmission fluid into your 2001 Isuzu Rodeo?
For most isuzu rodeo transmission are sealed transmissions, (they do not have a dip stick) look under the truck and you will see two bolts on the transmission oil pan,(one smaller than the other) technically you're supposed to refill the oil with a special pump at mechanic shop. But there's a trick to do it yourself, on the driver's side of the transmission is a plug with a sensor( remove the sensor and fill from there. You will need an adjustable wrench..
How do you program a fob for 2000 Isuzu Rodeo?
See www.isuzufaq.com entry 41. "How do I reprogram my keyless entry fob?"
The first procedure (turn key 3x, close & open door 2x, turn key 5x, close & open door) worked for my 2002 Rodeo.
I just bought a 99' Rodeo two days ago, (102,000 miles on it), and it idles rough, stalls, etc. Today I added fuel injection cleaner to the fuel, I figured it couldn't hurt to try. When I got home, I popped the hood and with some luck and not very good ears, found the problem. On the back side if the intake manifold is a vacuum line that is routed along the rear/driver side of the engine. That vacuum line runs to a little diaphragm canister connected to the main pressurized fuel line that supplies the fuel injectors. The manifold end of the vacuum line was disconnected. I pushed it back on and the rodeo died. I then removed the vacuum line from the diaphragm end to find that a small, spitting stream of gasoline was being shot out of the little diaphragm canister. Apparently the diaphragm has a pin-hole leak and is sucking it direcly into the manifold and loosing some vacuum pressure in the process. I can only imagine that the engineers have constructed the diaphragm canister and injector supply line as one complete unit surely making it mighty expensive. Hope this can help. ~OUTLAW~
Answeri had same problem too, at first it worked fine with cleaning egr valve but after couple of months it's doing the same thing and cleaned the egr valve again....but this time, it didn't work, it stalls/try to stall at stop lights..most embarassing is in traffic. i don't have any CEL on for this one, so i don't exactly know what's the culprit but I'm executing one diagnose at time. I'll post the answer if i find the culprit. but for now try cleaning egr valve and egr exhaust pipe. here is detail link to egr valve http://www.icess.ucsb.edu/~greg/rodeo/egr.htmPOSSIABLE ANSWER

Where do you add Transmission Fluid to a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo?
It's underneath the engine.
You would need to lift the car. I'd recommend getting it professionally done.
What does LS mean in a 1995 Isuzu Rodeo?
On a '98 it meant an upgrade package of features; some of it was "wood (plastic) grained interior accents, 16 in lieu of 15 inch wheels, alloy wheels, matching heated exterior mirrors etc. I suspect it isn't any different for the ;95
I had the same problem in my 98' rodeo and the tube running to the EGR valve was clogged, taking the EGR valve off and spraying carb cleaner down the tube unclogged it and it fixed the problem
How do you replace rear speakers on 1998 Isuzu rodeo?
The bar that goes over them just pops off. Be sure to remove the back cargo light, first though. After you have snapped the bar off, you will see the speaker (4"). Just unscrew them with a regular size Phillips and do your replacement, then snap the body panel back on and put the cargo light back where it does. Voila! It took me about 30 minutes to replace both of my back speakers in my 99 rodeo last week.
How do you replace the alternator on a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo?
The alternator is located on the passenger side of the engine near the bottom. I found it is easiest to remove it from inside the wheel well. There should be 2 bolts holding it to the alternator bracket that mounts to the block. Unbolting the alternator and them disconnecting the wires running to it is easiest. Installation is the reverse of the removal.
How do you remove a 1993 3.2 V6 standard Isuzu Rodeo dashboard?
In order to take it off you first need to take off the fuse panel cover. Then remove the clips and screws that hold on the guage cover. After this the there are four screws on the bottom of the guage housing that must be removed from the bottom so you must take the panel that covers the bottom of the dash.(right above the fuse panel Approx 6-8 screws.) Once that is done you can disconect the wiring harness behind the guage housing and remove it. The rest of the panels are held on with a few screws and little clips.
