Why does your 1991 Jeep Cherokee loose coolant water which collects in the passenger footwell?
A very common cause of loosing engine coolant and having it leak into the interior foot wells (either side, but generally passenger), is a leaking heater core. This can happen even when not using the heater, since there is almost always a small amount of flow to reduce sludge or corrosion accumulation. Replacing the heater core generally fixes the problem. Note that on most newer cars this also involves the air conditioning, so it is generally a shop job to be legal and environmentally conscious. You could have an A/C mechanic remove the coolant, then do the rest yourself before a recharge, but make sure you know what you're doing first. You don't want leaks, and it's a big job. Oh - if you're really lucky, it could just be the hoses leaking where they connect, but that' not normal since they generally leak down the firewall in the engine compartment.
Which reservoir on a master cylinder on a 2001 Cherokee sport is to the front brakes?
the rear is usually smaller and closer to the brake booster
The TPS is located on the right hand side of the engine on the throttle body that has the large air intake tupe attached to in on top of the intake manifold. There are three sensors attached to the throttle body...the sensor located closest to the valve cover is the Idle Control Valve, the sensor in the middle is the TPS you want to replace, and the square plastic sensor nearest the fender is the MAP sensor. You will need a small torx bit to remove the TPS sensor. Changing it is simple and straightforward. Good Luck!
How do you replace the water pump on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee with a straight six?
I just started to do mine today. 12-25-07 So far it is not fun or easy. Taken me 1.5 hrs so far and I haven't gotten the power steering out of the way yet.
That is the way it goes. Really about the only way is to remove the fuses one at a time and see when the brake lights go out. If the lights are not working, just pull fuses until you find one that is blown.
Don't forget to check under the hood on the passenger side fender- there's another fuse block there!
Check the brake light switch located above the brake pedal, sometimes they go bad, delicate reed switches inside. when you buy the new part - READ INSTRUCTIONS FIRST!! It's a self adjusting part, and you only get one shot at installation, it's an easy fix. Do NOT push the plunger down on the switch, if you try to reset it you will damage the switch, just follow directions word for word and your golden.
It's your viscous coupler. That part is located in the rear housing of your transfer case. Likely there is nothing wrong with the transfer case itself, these couplers are a wear item and do not last forever. Mine went at 203,000 miles. You can replace the coupler and avoid the cost of a new transfer case. It's possible to replace it with the transfer case still in the jeep, that's how I did mine. Or you can pull the whole unit if that's something you're comfortable with.
The replacement procedure isn't difficult but reaching the snap ring can be a bit tricky with the case in the truck.
umm... is there a question in there somewhere?
Where is the fuse for jeep Cherokee air conditioner clutch?
There is no fuses for the air conditioning clutch, but there is a relay mounted on the passenger fender beside the fuel pump relay.

That is a possibility.
How much oil do you need for an oil change in a 1995 Jeep Cherokee?
Start with five quarts and then check the dipstick. Add a quarter quart at a time til the dipstick reads full. Seems to me that if you have to be told this you should be taking your jeep to the instant oil change place and letting the high school dumbasses do your oil change. Just my opinion of course.......
It can be a myriad of things. Drive the car to a trusted mechanic and have them scan the ECU with an OBD2 scan tool. The tool will retrieve the code that has been set. This code will tell you what parts are being effected and a possible repair.

Your Cherokee has a fuel injected engine. Therefore it has an electric fuel pump. That fuel pump is mounted on top and inside the fuel tank.
What can you do to fix the starter plunger switch for Jeep Cherokee that sticks?
if your talking about the one on or in the starter, you have a bad solinoid. This could be or come to be very serious, very quickly, for instance, if it sticks while the gears are engaged it will burn out the starter and maybe a feed back that could burn wires. A starter uses a lot of juice and the wires could get very hot if the starter sticks
How do you change 2001 jeep Cherokee window regulator?
http://www.jeepin.com/features/wj_window_regulator/Don't replace the regulator assembly. That's a more expansive and temporary fix. The plastic part at fault will fail again. For 30 bucks per window + shipping to anywhere in the world you can get this alluminum clip to permantly fix this problem. They have great instructions or if you feel you can't do it yourself (not that difficult) they can arrange to do it for you. I did this on one window. Now I wish I had done all of them because it is even easier to do before it breaks. Go to this web address. http://pocketlogger.com/?pid=jpw Problem Solved, Alan
