Is washing your hands once as effective as washing more?

Of course not ! ! Wash away!...BB Society in the Western World are becoming germaphobics!!! The manufacturers love to make the public paranoid. Want to sell a product ... either tell the public that it's good for them or instill the fear of God into them so they feel if they don't use the product they could be endangering themselves or their children. The manufacturers of certain products pick on usually mothers that want the best for their children. You should only have to wash your hands after: going to the washroom; handling food; after using some products such as sprays that may get on your hands and after going shopping or doing other errands. Other than that quit washing your hands so much. People are upset because they can't figure out why they have cracked hands and it's because the very manufacturer of the antibiotic soaps have made a product that strips the oils and GOOD bacteria from your skin! Even if you use a mild soap and wash you hands too much you can take all that good bacteria that fights germs right off your skin. Cracks in the hands are open wounds and more apt to become infected. Our skin is the largest organ of the body and it has a good bacteria on it. By showering, having too many baths and always washing one's hands (when it's not necessary) a person is stripping of the very bacteria on the skin that helps to keep us healthy. Most people don't stop and think rationally. When I was a kid I shared my ice cream cone with my dog; my brother ate dirt and worms (was very young) and we seldom washed our hands and gee, that was like 60 years ago and we're alive and breathing, rarely if every get a cold or the flu (and no, we don't take flu shots) because we believe in letting our own immune system grow stronger and do the work for us. We eat right, exercise, have good hygiene without over-doing the washing of hands. Flu shots may be necessary for people with different illness' or having chemo or radiation, but other than this, it's best to build up your own immune system. The only shots we had back in our day was for polio, chicken pox, etc. Don't be afraid to to look up information on flu shots (whether it's good or bad) or what shot your doctor may want to give you or your children. Knowledge is worth it's weight in gold! So, ease up on the washing of the hands. Be realistic. If you go to the gym then have a shower or at least wash your hands. Same applies to if you are out shopping, gardening, etc. Let your skin and immune system work for you!

Who created the hammer between 1300-1800?

Neolithic man figured out how to bind a stone head to a wooden handle thousands of years ago. They had every bit as much use for a hammer as for an axe. How on earth could the ancient egyptians have made beaten gold objects without hammers, or carved heiroglyphs? Hammers have been around for thousands of years not just the last 7 or 800 years. Otherwise apologies if I misunderstood your question.

How much would it cost to furnish a home with 20000 square feet?

A lot. Unless you like the "minimalist" look with barely any furniture. But if you truly have a 20,000 sq ft home, money should be no object...right?

What advantage does porcelain have over a plastic washing machine drum?

None. Porcelain is a enamel baked onto to a steel drum. It is hard, durable and easy to clean but can be chipped exposing the steel of the drum which if left unnoticed will rust and may leave difficult to remove spots on clothing. Touch up enamel is available but prep and application instructions must be adhered to. Plastic is is also durable and easy to clean but could become gouged (uncommon) where it will pick at the fabric of clothing. Some fine sandpaper will remedy this.

== == They used porcelain sinks, bath tubs, etc., up until around the late 1950s. They are high quality and I love them! Unfortunately, plastic has it's uses, but I detest plastic especially in washing machine drums, fridges and knobs on stoves. They don't take well to heat change such as from hot to cold and will discolor to an ugly yellow. I didn't even realize you could get a porcelain washing machine drum. If you have it or thinking of buying one then guard it with your life! LOL

There's probably a model number or serial number on the back of the washer and dryer. Jot it down and call the manufacturer for the information. Many department stores like Sears can probably also help.

How do you clean suede?

If it's a jacket, suit, skirt or dress it must be done at the dry cleaners. To keep the suede perked up while clean use a medium-soft brush (mushroom brush, etc.) to bring up the suede.

Suede has a napped finish that can be damaged by the use of a brush. It is advisable that all suede garments be cleaned at the end of the season, and not be stored with stains that can permanently affix over time.

How do you keep fitted sheet corners from rising on the bed and are there some type of straps?

Yes, you can get them at most department stores.

Some are put on each corner, some go all the way underneath the mattress and hook to both sides. But they don't work for everyone. Some have been known to put holes in sheets where they are attached (those with metal clamps). Corners can still come off sometimes, too, if you don't put them on securely (you may need to attach corner ones closer to the middle than you might at first think is needed, but they are very stretchy, I use only two on my bed and they work great).

Drawstring sheets can be another way to go! Drawstring fitted sheets stay put and self-adjust to the mattress thickness. The drawstring is tightened at the side of the mattress so there is no problem figuring out where the drawstring side is.

How do you clean vomit off a leather jacket?

Our dog vomited all over our good leather chair. As soon as I realized that it happened, I quickly removed the vomit and then used Method brand leather wipes. Method products are all natural and I like them for other purposes. I rubbed for a while and then let the area dry. It worked! No smell and no stain.

What prevents you from getting pit stains from SWEAT?

How do you stay erect longer?

Erections are all about physiology and psychology. If your brain is stimulated an erection will develop. That stimulation can come from any of your senses.

Some people are stimulated by music, naughty talk or the sounds of sex. The smells of sex or something that your brain associated with sex, perhaps perfume or a smell you remember from a previous sexual experience. Touch is powerful and certainly your own touch can stimulate you but likely the touch of another will stimulate you more. We are very visual creatures and seeing sexual objects or activities will stimulate you, that's evidenced by the world of porn we are awash in.

If you are young and having trouble keeping an erection, that would be a bit unusual and could be over stimulation, guilt, too much masturbation or even physical problems with your circulatory system.

Argo laundry starch side effects?

oh reallly? i don't know cause i was eating the starch and i addicted to starch for 5 yearAnswersome side effects are weight gain, diabetes, tooth decay and anemia

Updated 05/26/08 (TeddyRea): I have personally been severly addicted to starch for years and have gotten to the point where I was eating 1 box a day and more recently almost 2 boxes. I would literally substitute starch for food. It is highly addictive and darn near impossible to stop. I have been starch free for almost 2 weeks now and each day is a struggle. I want to share some of the side effects I experienced personally in hopes of helping and informing others. Side effects that I personally experienced from eating starch include:

oral thrush (look it up...very gross....like a type of fungus that grows on your tongue from increased yeast from eating starch.....which I was able to cure by taking acidophilus capsules which I purchased from rite aide)

severe headaches/migrane

anemia

weight gain (at least a pound a day from eating a full box of starch/ 3500 calories = 1lb) - gained about 60lbs in 2 mths

lack of energy

severe depression

sore/patchy/bleeding tongue and roof of mouth

terrible terrible dandruff and flaky skin (on my face) - eyebrows, nose, every part of my face would be dry and flaky. I had to literally check myself in the mirror before I went anywhere to make sure flakes of skin were not hanging off.

I found going cold turkey is the hardest thing to do, but I don't have any other option. There isn't a 'cure' for this. Ive been taking high doses of iron which have not decreased my cravings at all. However, the side effect of NOT eating starch have been very noticible in the short time Ive been without.

My dandruff has completely stopped. My face is no longer dry and flaky....its very moisturized and my T-zone is back to it's overly oily self, I feel very energized and am not depressed, NO MORE HEADACHES/MIGRANES my mouth is 98% healed from the oral thrush and the pain...no more bleeding either and best of all....I'm not gaining 1lb a day. Simply cutting out the starch consumption, I stand to lose 1lb a day.

All I can say is that it is so hard. I've searched the internet high and low for side effects and no site has anything on the subject regarding side effects and most say that there are none. But Im here to tell you, anything in excess can be bad for you and I am a personal witness. I have to daily remind myself about the status of my health while eating starch and after the fact in order to convince myself not to buy it. The benefits truly outweigh the addiction, but you'll always be in recovery. Dont let yourself be tepmpted by just one bite....that's all it takes to lure you back into the unforgiving and sickly addictive starch consumption.

Additional Information: A link has been found between the craving for unusual substances and iron, and/or zinc deficiency. If you are experiencing any craving such as this one or others, even the urge to chew ice. You need to see your Dr. and explain what you are doing, honestly and openly. The deficiencies are often a signal of anemia and you need to make sure your Dr. checks for all of these. If you are anemic, please make sure your Dr. follows this up and explores the root causes, colon cancer has been linked with all of these symptoms. This doesn't mean that everyone with these urges has colon cancer, just that it should be investigated by your Dr. to make sure of any underlying causes. This is a serious issue that needs to be discussed with you medical professional.

How do you get dry paint off of jeans?

You could try some paint stripper or "Goof Off". Use a little bit directly on the paint, let it sit for a few minutes then brush it with a stiff nylon brush. You may have to repeat that part a couple times, then when it looks the way you want it, rinse it off. Make sure that you use rubber gloves and do it in a well ventillated area. If you get any of the paint stripper on you, rinse it off IMMEDIATELY! After you get the jeans looking the way you want them, rinse them well then run them through the washer a couple times to get any residual paint stripper off. It's nasty stuff that you don't want in contact with your skin, but it works well getting paint off.

Will a sharpie come out of a T-shirt in the washing machine?

Use ALCOHOL to remove Sharpie. The sooner the better. The alcohol will spread the ink, so focus on removing the bulk of the ink in the area it is located. It is usually beneficial to backup the stained area with a dry cotton ball then use another cotton ball soaked with alcohol to wash the ink. As mentioned, this will spread the ink so depending on how well you perform this process will determine if you will need to wash the entire garment in alcohol. (Rubber gloves may be in order since the alcohol will also dry your fingers)
