Believe it or not, it's right in the middle of the block (left to right) on the front side of the engine. You can see it beneath an aluminum shroud, looking down on the engine. It looks like it's going to be a mess removing it without getting the old oil everywhere.

There are 3. Bank 1 sensor 1 is between the radiator and engine when you open the hood. It looks like a spark plug screwed into the header coming out of the engine, going down, and feeding into the exhaust. Bank 2 sensor 1 is between the firewall and the engine (back side of engine). It also looks like a spark plug screwed into the header coming out of the engine, going down, and feeding into the exhaust. Hard to see unless you get under the car. The 3rd sensor is on the top side of the exhaust pipe just after the catalytic converter. The connectection for this one is underneath the carpet under the driver seat. First and last are easy to replace. Trace wire to connector, disconnect, and unscrew. Remember to use anti-seize compound on the threads of the new sensor. The bank 2 sensor 1 works the same way but I haven't been able to reach the connector to get it disconnected. Its very hard to reach. Sit in the driver's seat and lock all the doors.
Unlock and open the driver's door.
Insert the key into the ignition and remove it (don't turn it...just remove it).
Using the MANUAL lock switch on the driver's door, lock and unlock the door 5 times.
Close the door.
Open the door.
Lock and unlock the driver's door 5 times (I'm almost certain you use the MANUAL lock switch again, but if this sequence fails to work, try again with the power switch).
Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
Remove the key.
The driver's door will now lock and unlock itself one time.
Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for at least 1 second.
Close the driver's door.
Open the driver's door.
Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob for at least one second.
Close the driver's door.
Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob. The door will lock.
Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the key fob again. The door will unlock.
You should be all set.

As you face the engine there is a large hose on the left (passenger's side) leading from the radiator to the water pump. Slide the compression clamp at the water pump down the radiator hose by squeezing the tabs with pliers. Remove the hose (catch and recycle the radiator fluid). Remove the two bolts holding the metal outlet (from which you just removed the radiator hose) onto the water pump. The thermostat is under the metal outlet.

The sensor between the cat and the engine is the air fuel ratio sensor, it looks like an o2 sensor. The o2 sensor is between the cat and the tail pipe. The forward sensor is the af sensor t he rear one is the o2 sensor. Thar answer is for the calif. vehicles. Fed may be different but I dont think the 4 runner had two o2s like some of the sedans. fairly visable tho.

1) Unplug the wire to the headlight.
2) Remove black rubber piece surrounding the headlight bulb. Can be hard to remove, just pull gently.
3) ... This is what threw me off... The clip that holds the bulb is supposed to be pulled to the side (to unlatch it), then pushed towards the engine. (I thought it needed to be pushed down, but it doesn't.

I had the same problem with my 1999 Alero. The easy fix was one of the front wheel pigtail sensors was faulty. This first caused the Trac on/off and ABS lights to come on when the wheels were turned either hard right or left. The lights then remained on permanently after a few months. I eventually had to replace both front wheel hub assemblies within 2 years and the problem is now fixed. So first try replacing just the sensors and hopefully will not have to replace the hub assemblies.

1. Driver's door open and unlocked, all other doors closed and locked.
2. Insert YOUR key in ignition, DO NOT TURN, remove key.
3. Using the lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly press lock and unlock 5 times (count the lock 5 times and unlock 5 times).
4. Shut door.

6. Using the lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly press lock and unlock 5 times (count the lock 5 times and unlock 5 times).
7. With the door open insert your key into the ignition, turn to on position (DON'T START), wait 5 seconds. Turn off and remove key.
8. Locks should cycle once (Car will lock and then unlock once). If they don't cycle or they cycle more than once, do steps 1-7 over.
9. Now using the remote, push lock button, hold for one second, release. The locks should cycle once. If not, start over and go slower.
10. Close the door. Open the door. Press the lock button on the remote. The locks should cycle. Close the door. Press the lock button on the remote, the doors should lock. Press again and the doors should unlock.

They had it back in a few days.They are called Dash Electronics & Speedometer the number is (248) 835 1332 found them on the web at: www.dashusa.com good luck!!
I called dashusa.com and they said that it costs around $350 to fix the needles. They basically add on an LED light to the needles, they don't replace the needles.

A week ago, on my Lexus ES 300 (2001), "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights came on. This coincided with me filling the gas tank to the brim to round the dollar to be paid. Some websites suggested that the "Trac Off" is related to the gas tank cap not being tight. I cleaned the gas tank cap and the tank opening. However, both lights persisted. On the same day, when I turned on the car again, there was a hesitance, a stuttering to come on, like the battery was going down. Both "Check Engine" and "Trac Off" lights were still on.
The next day, the car wouldn't come on at all. It sounded as the battery was dead. I couldn't even jump start the car. Usually, if the battery is completely drained, jump starting will not work. So, I got a new battery from Costco ($56.99) and put it in. (There is a $9 fee if you do not turn in the old battery).
It took 15-20 seconds of cranking to get the car started. Once it was started, the engine sounded fine and the RPM was normal. The "Check Engine" light was off. However, the "Trac Off" was still on. I cleaned the gas tank cap one more time.
The next morning, when I turned the car on, there was no problem at all. It came on instantly as it used to be, didn't have any warning lights, and drove smoothly.
The gas tank cap getting dirty and the battery being down are unrelated things, which just happened on the same day. I do not know which one caused which warning light to come on though.
