Lincoln Continental

The likely reason why the alarm in a 1999 Lincoln Continental goes off on hot days is because warm air flow triggers the sensors. You can deactivate the alarm by unlocking the car.

It just slides into place on the shelf. Simply pull it back and twist it a little and it will come free. I read this in the owner's manual if you have one handy.

Try looking above the kick plate where the pedals are. It should be located and attached to the stearing column.

What is wrong with your dash?

1. Drain the engine cooling system so that the engine coolant level is below the water thermostat .
2. Raise vehicle on hoist. See General Information.
3. Disconnect the lower radiator hose and degas bottle hose from the water inlet connection.
4. Remove the two water inlet connection retaining bolts. Remove the water inlet connection.
5. Remove the O-ring seal and water thermostat from the water thermostat housing. Inspect O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.
6. If required, remove water bypass hose from water thermostat housing and remove water thermostat housing retaining bolts, water thermostat housing and O-ring from oil filter adapter . Inspect O-ring for damage and replace if necessary.

the low pressure ac hose is by the fire wall close to the passengers side it might be covered by a black piece of plastic that goes straight across it the bigger one than the high side next to the radiator which is the smaller one.

I had the same message on my display and the car was lurching like a fuel pump problem or something. I changed the fuel filter and ran cleaner through the fuel system and the error message has never returned. Hope that helps.

The only engine from the factory in a 1997 Lincoln Continental is the 4.6 liter

The window motor on a Lincoln Continental is replaced by removing the door trim, disconnecting the wiring harness to the motor, and unbolting it from the door. A new motor can then be mounted and hooked up.

you can use 1997 to 2002 continetal steel coil springs to replace the air bag system once replaced plug the airlines with small screws and epoxy and youll need to keep the solenoids off the old front air springs and hook them up to the original wires and tuck em away in the fender wells ,if you don't do this the back air bags wont run or pump up Ford wont tell you thse springs will work but i just personally did it and got rid of the air struts and man ill tell you the steel coil springs are the best you don't have to worry they sit up 4 inches above the front wheels and clearance isn't aproblem anymore . if you neglect yr airbags itll eat yr front end componants aka ball joints ect so on like nothing

take the water hose and get under the car and spray your rims and brakes with it to clean out the senor cause dirt or other material may be blocking the senor from getting the correct reading and that should fix it most the time

Another's view: I occasionally have my ABS light come on (and from testing know that the ABS really is disabled at those times) on my 95 town car. USUALLY if I pull over, stop the engine, and restart the car the light goes out and ABS works OK...

I have a possible explanation, from similar experiences I have had with ABS on a BMW motorcycle: On the BMW there is a 'self test' that takes place with ABS immediately upon start-up, and if there is a low voltage condition (like a weakened battery) the ABS will fail it's self test and disable itself. 100% of the time on the BMW motorcycle if I run the engine a few minutes to recharge the battery, and restart the bike, the self test works fine and ABS is still good.

So if cleaning your sensors does not solve your problem, try running the car for a few minutes after you get the failure and then stop and restart the engine. If THAT takes care of it, you may just have an aging or low voltage battery!

Find a thin piece of steel like metal banding used in industry to band pallets together,. Cut about a 8 inch length and bend the end about 1.16 of an inch slide it down like you would a jimmie for opening car dorr and when it catches start pressing the eject button with slight pressure. It will poop out. More than likely you have change that has fallen down into the bottom fo the CD player

The plug is on the bottom of the oil pan in front of the transmission pan

The fuses are located behnd a small panel in the glove box, I believe the circuit breakers are located to right of glove box also

Good luck doing that yourself since Continentals have an electronic air bag suspension, your better off bringing it to a mechanic, if you bust one of those air bags its $400 per bag, my advise take it in.

Not all lincoln continentals have air ride.
