check to see if the ride height sensor is hooked up properly. Its the little shock absorber looking thing by the air bag. When this happened on mine reattaching the part and then restarting the car fixed it. You may have to take a flat blade screwdriver and bend the little metal retaining clip back so that it will holdto the spindle on the control arm.

Silly boy... buy the air hose repair kit - it is a Ford part - I think about $15 - the shocks have nothing to do with the rear air suspesion - you must have a leaking air line - fix it.

Internal problem with the transmission. Take the car to a professional ASAP. Do not keep driving the car or you may do permanent damage.

Never knew that there was a security code for the radio, just set the stations etc.

there is a M.L.P.that is located on the side of the transmission.its connected to the shifter and tells the trani. what gear you shifted in. it is very simple to change.you have one connector and two screws.very easy.

buy a posi differential. it can be welded but it wont last long

on the turn signal switch just pull it once an you are set ,for high or low beam.

One wire should be a 'hot' wire, one 'ground' and the two remaining wires would be a 'low' and 'high' speed. I believe that the Lincoln Mark VIII electric fan is a 2-speed fan. The four wires probably have something to do with the 2 circuits required for the 2 different speeds.

Autozone has a loan a tool program, did you check there yet? You leave a deposit, use their tool and return it to get your deposit back. They don't lend out brand named tools like Mac and Snap-on and their tools are not th ebest but I have used them to get by on projects when funds run short and I am unable to buy the tool I need.

Yes!!! Actually it is not specifically designed for a mark viii (that i know of) there is one for a mustang cobra, which has the exact same 4.6L 32valve engine and will bolt right on. Search yahoo or google for a mustang cobra supercharger (Or just a 4.6L DOHC engine)

Provided you are talking about the MIL Light = Malfunction Indicator Lamp? the 97 Mark VIII is an OBDII computer system. it requires a scan tool to reset / turn off the MIL / check engine light. it requires repairing the fault / problem to keep it off. drl

for sure it has one water temp thermostat located in the front of egine on top near the alternator.

Under the hood drivers side follow the bottom radiator hose to a junction and that is where the thermostat is.

You need a ratchet long extensions and I think a 10mm socket. On the drivers side follow the radiator hose to the junction where you see two bolts, remove and that is where the thermostat is. It's a pain but take your time and you will be fine. Don't forget to "burp" the system when putting in coolant, fill till full, remove the bolt on the front of the intake manifold and fill till full. Squeeze the hose lightly a couple of times and the coolant should go down, keep filling until it stays full, replace bolt and drive and watch the temp. gauge, if it heats up you need to repeat the filling up by removing the bolt and repeating until it runs normal. Sometimes it can take a few times before it's right. Sorry about the novel.

No permanent damage but don't know if you continue to do it. You just have to recycle the system like starting the car and if nothing happens, pop the trunk and flip the air ride switch on the driver's side behind the little door to off then on and that should recycle the system and you should be good to go, hope this helped. Should the compressor come on while the car is raised, it will blow out the bags since the height sensors will not operate. If the bags deflated completely while the car was raised, do NOT let the car drop all the way down to the ground. Support it halfway (near riding height; let the tires touch the ground and partially compress the bags/shocks) and let the compressor reinflate the bags. Otherwise older bags may pop and/or the compressor may cut out and give you a "Check air suspension" warning due to the 90 second time limit and the thermal protector.

Disconnect the positive cable from battery, carefully remove the bolts attaching door panel and disconnect electrical connections and lower window before disconnecting battery and remove the two bolts holding the door handle on and remove the linkage and reverse for installing.

On a plate/sticker inside the drivers door, near the bottom, you will see "EXT PNT" followed by a 2 letter or a letter/number code.

The code for a silver Town Car should be "T3" - that is Satellite Silver Metallic Clearcoat

Most newer vehicles no longer have a "radiator cap" per se ... fluids are added through a radiator reservoir ... there are increments on the reservoir for hot and cold proper levels. Having a reservoir also avoids the possibilities of being severely scalded (burned) by water that could be up to 260°F in temperature. Also, these newer systems are what is called a "sealed system" - If you remove the radiator cap air may enter into the cooling system. An air bubble within the cooling system will not help cool the engine.
