1. Using the NGS scan tool and Service Card, select Service Bay Functions.
2. Select PATS.
3. Select Enter Security Access (this will require a 10 minute delay).
4. Select Parameter reset (do NOT perform any other selections at this point).
5. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the scan tool from the On-Board Diagnostics II (OBD2) connector.
6. Cycle the ignition switch from the OFF to the RUN position 5 times. Each time the key is cycled, leave the key in the RUN position for at least 3 seconds and leave the key in the OFF position for at least 2 seconds.
7. After the 5th cycle of the key to the RUN position, the theft light should perform a normal prove-out and the engine should start.

The first thing you need to have is the vehicles MASTER keypad combination. Once you have this number it is simple to ADD an additional combination of your choise.
The MASTER combination always remains the same; you can only add an additional combination. How do you get the master combination? Good question. According to what he said you can find the combination sticker inside the trunk lid or the trunk bars, else than that my 1995 Lincoln town car had it sticked in the door panel, just take it off and you should see a black box with a sticker on it, the 5 digit number printed there is gonna be the master code. Hope it's helpful for everyone with this problem. And I would like to know how to change the combination. Thanks

On my 97 mountaineer you cannot open the hood with the release inside the truck. Standing in front of the truck on the drivers side behind the grill the cable is located to pop the latch. Carefully pull out the bottom right side of the grill and you have to have a skinny arm reach in and pull downward on the cable itself this will pop the hood...
