I don't change that unless some other factor makes using the manufacturer's ground location impossible, and then I route the ground cable to a manifold bolt within reach of the cable.

Since I am not experienced with that make and model, this answer will be generic in nature. Most vehicle clutch system are similar in nature, and all use some kind of "linkage" between the pedal and the clutch assembly. The cause of the symptoms you describe suggest a failure of the linkage which connects the clutch pedal to the clutch itself. There are two types of linkage: the older mechanical, and the new style hydraulic. The older mechanical type uses either a rod, or a cable to connect the pedal to the clutch. If your vehicle has one of these, then the symptoms you describe suggest that a connector has come loose, or a rod or cable has broken. The newer vehicles use a hydraulic linkage system consisting of a master cylinder attached to the pedal, a metal line between and to the clutch assembly, and a slave cylinder at the clutch, to actuate the clutch. Again, the symptoms indicate a failure in this linkage "chain." The failure could be any one or more things in any part of this chain. Some of these include a leak anywhere in the system which allowed the hydraulic fluid to drain out, or a failure of a seal in either the master cylinder, or the slave cylinder. The "fix" for this is to first examine and analyze the entire system to determine and identify the defect which caused the problem. Once the defect has been identified, then repair or replace the part responsible. Do NOT make the mistake of trying to fix the problem by simply replacing parts one at a time, as this can become very expensive and a lot of work IF the defective part just happens to be the last one you get to.j3h.

1. CLEAN DOWNTUBES THAT MEET HOSES - REAR & FRONT.
2. REMOVE 10mm BOLTS SO PUMP IS REMOVEABLE.
3. WETWORK - GOGGLES, PAN FOR DRIPS, PAPER TOWELS, GLOVES, ETC.
4. GET READY WITH NEWLY-CUT LENGTHS OF GAS HOSES THAT WILL REPLACE OLD - FRONT & REAR - PLACE HOSE CLAMPS ON BOTH ENDS OF HOSES - SET ASIDE.
5. ON NEW REAR HOSE PLACE VISE-GRIPS MIDWAY TO PREVENT LEAKAGE. DO NOT CRUSH HOSE. ON OLD REAR HOSE PLACE VISE-GRIPS TO PREVENT BACKWASH.
6. PRACTICE THIS - CUT OLD HOSE FROM TANK DOWNTUBE, PLUG WITH THUMB, QUICKLY PLACE NEW REAR HOSE ON DOWNTUBE AND TIGHTEN HOSECLAMP. THE VISE-GRIPS PREVENT LEAKAGE.
7 WITH OLD BACKHOSE OFF, REMOVE VISE-GRIPS AND DRAIN HOSE, PUMP, AND SYSTEM UP TO FUEL FILTER/REGULATOR.
8. REMOVE FUEL PUMP - TEST BY APPLYING 12V AWAY FROM VEHICLE TO SEE IF PUMP WORKS TO A-N-Y DEGREE. I USE SINK, LENGTH OF HOSE, AND FLOW WATER THROUGH, WHILE MEASURING PRESSURE WITH A PRESSURE GAUGE. IF PUMP YIELDS 45PSI - THEN I RELACED CLOGGED FUEL FILTER AND FUEL-PRESSURE-REGULATOR, AND GOT NEW INJECTORS.
9. DRAIN NEW REAR HOSE A LITTLE TO SEE IF 'CHUNKS' ARE LEAVING TANK.
10. REPLACE AND MOUNT EXTERNAL FUEL PUMP. HOOK UP NEW FRONT & REAR HOSE. TIGHTEN HOSE CLAMPS. REMOVE ALL VISE-GRIPS.
NO LEAKAGE ? START 'ER UP.

the best way to "bleed" any clutch is to get a can with a pump and a hose that will fit over the bleed screw. Loosen the bleed screw put the hose over it and pump fluid back up to the master cylinder this will force any air out.

I did this on a 91 Stanza with 2.4 engine. Discovered that the mechanic I paid to do the job broke the TC cover and tried to "fix" it with gasket sealer (told me the oil leak was due to a worn harmonic balancer shaft). I'm guessing he broke it by prying on the cover after he thought all the bolts were out. He was wrong, and I bet that you are too. When I went back in to find out why the timing chain was rattling a year later, I discovered the broken cover and that there were at least 2 more bolts than I thought. If I remember correctly, the bolts go from the engine into the cover, backwards from what you expect, and are on the lower half of the cover. Good luck.

You have white smoke coming out of the tailpipe and antifreeze coming out of the manifold?
Think you may have bad head gasket, seal or cracked head. Water is getting into your engine which usually causes white smoke. Also leaking antifreeze is from these same causes. Hope this helps. Ken
