You own a 88 Chevy beretta the hood release cable is broken how can you open the hood?

how do you remove the engine? Is it pulled from the top or do you unbolt the sub frame and slide it out from under the car?
Have one of these cars myself. The C-3 diagnostic lead is the ALDL mounted to the bottom edge of the dash just right of the steering wheel. You will need to insert a paperclip into the slot to ground terminals A and B to prevent the ECM from advancing or retarding the timing as you adjust the distributer. These are the same terminals you would ground to read the trouble codes.
How to diagnose 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme driver's side window problems?
what are the windows doing?
New answer-Source of any electrical problem is fairly easy once you know the basics. Fuse, power, and device. Since you indicate "driver's side" window, the other windows evidently "work." Fuse, "OK." Power, "OK." Problem? Lays in the door and will have to be inspected to see if motor is jammed, channel glass guide jam or motor simply no good. To get to the motor refer to the answer I gave another person with the same problem.
You will have to pull the steering wheel off and then take the top cover off the steering column and then you can get to the bolts that hold the switch in, you will need a new switch.
What would cause a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire to not start?
Before you go out and spend money on a new battery. Check this do you have headlights? Are they very dim? Do you hear a clicking sound when the key is turned? Get a boost from someone to see if it will start. If it does then. Put your battery on over night charge (trickle charge). If you find you are still having problems then look into buying a new battery (Most auto stores will load check ur battery for free) I just dumped my battery for just this problem and bot a Motormaster Eliminator (which according to ctc doesn't fit my carrier - its does just a little tighter fix)
remove tank remove fill tube set tank on somthing about wase leval tip tank to the side that the fill tube should be the gas will run out
Many thanks for your reply. I found another method by enabling the fuel pump. Where the tank was full, I needed to remove most gas before dropping the gas tank. Method found is to first disconnect engine gas supply hose exiting gas tank and stick it in a gas can. Then, locate the fuel pump fuse box under the hood on driver side, locate the fuel pump switch wires (see wiring diagrams), switch pump on, and the gas pumps out into the can.

Don't know technical name but there is a multi-functional switch on your steering column that is tied in with the turn signal actuator. Whole unit is replaced as one. Parts house $350-400+. On line about $250+. I was told it would take about 1- 1 1/2 hours for a mechanic.

Is 5x120 lug pattern the same as 5x5.5?
No it isn't. A 5x5.5 or 5x139.7 is popular on Classic Jeeps, half-ton Fords up to '96 I believe, and half-ton Dodges. There may be more that I am no aware of.
Why wont both front doors open from the outside?
the linkages have either been removed/disconnected from inside the door panel (maybe parted out) or the frame has torqued (as in a crash) and they are jammed
If handle has no resistance the handle it's self is broken. When handle has a constant lite resistance from a spring it will be linkage from handle to latch disconnected or damaged (The linkage has small plastic clips holding it in place on each end and break fairly easily.)
intake shorter but which is the intake or the exhaust valve which one is which
That depends. '71 W30's were made at Lansing MI, so the VIN must have the M.
The VIN must be 344... or it's not a factory 442... HOWEVER, and beware here,
the BODY TAG, which is NOT the VIN... can be for a Cutlass body [336...] at least for the '68-9 Lansing built cars.
*THE* VIN is the dashboard sequence like
344671M001442
and all '68 thru '71 442's [and ONLY 442's] sport the "44" model series identifying digits.

Where is the thermostat in a 2001 s-10?
In a 2001 Chevrolet S-10, the thermostat is located in the engine compartment, mounted on the engine block near the top radiator hose. To access it, you typically need to remove the upper radiator hose and the thermostat housing, which is secured by bolts. It's important to ensure the engine is cool before attempting to replace the thermostat to avoid burns or injuries.
