When I make paper letters, I trace them using a stencil of the size I need and then cut them out with scissors. I usually use construction paper and often make the letters different colors. To make them last almost forever, I laminate them. If I have free access to a laminating machine, I use it, but clear contact paper does a good job, too. It just makes a softer finish than laminating material. An extra tip on the laminating part: cover one side of your letter/paper with clear tape, then cover the other side with clear tape too. Trim the tape down to match each other perfectly after its put on if you want. It makes a great seal, good for laminating, or mailbox signs- no water ever gets is!

Yes! It's made out of paper, as with all paper products, it comes from trees.

Paper is produced in a paper mill and is made from trees. Paper mills are located in states that have an abundance of trees. A couple states where paper is produced are, Idaho and Maine.

From one tree that is 158 square ft. lon it will makr up to 200,000 pieces of separate paper used in a newspaper. That is a stupendous amount for one tree. Just imagine a whole forest!

Lithography (from the Greek word for stone) is a process invented in the late 18th century by Alois Senefelder. The matrix is either limestone or a metal plate treated to simulate stone. The artist can draw on the smoothed surface with a wide range of litho crayons, paint with liquids, scratch into the drawn areas, and manipulate the image in innumerable ways. Lithography affords the artist a wide range of graphic and painterly freedom. The image is printed by chemically treating the stone to ensure that the drawn areas attract ink while the unmarked areas repel it. Ink is then rolled over the stone, printmaking paper set in place, and a scraperbar pulled across the paper to transfer the ink to the paper. Lithography is called a planographic process because, unlike relief or intaglio, all the ink remains on the surface plane of the matrix.
